Reviews of The People's Kitchen
"Cozy breakfast nook with great friendly staff. Most tables can seat 2 people and a couple can seat 4, which worked out really well for the 2 of us. We were able to get a table pretty quickly. Super friendly staff got our food out pretty quickly while pouring out freshly brewed coffee. The build it yourself omelet and croissant with bourbon banana were delicious! Would most certainly comeback to this affordable brunch place the next time we visit Lehigh U!"
"My wife and I found this place during a weekend getaway. What looked like your typical greasy spoon turned into quite the hidden gem. The staff were very friendly, constantly checking in on us, and gave us a great overview and recommendations from their menu. The menu was very unique, with intriguing twists on the brunch classics. The staff had a family vibe, and we felt like we were welcomed into their home. The food was fantastic, and you could tell there was a sense of pride in their food and service while maintaining a welcoming and relaxed environment. One of the best breakfast experiences of my life, I just wish I lived closer!"
"This is a good spot for brunch. They have a short menu with both breakfast and lunch items. I ordered the Debbie Downer, a sandwich of French toast, grilled ham, bacon, fried egg and cheese (like a croque monsieur) topped with a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Syrup is optional. The sandwich was a delicious blend of sweet and savory with a nice crispness to the bacon and springy bite to the ham steak. The side of home fries was nicely seasoned, had crisp edges, with just a touch of char. The bourbon banana croissant French toast was also very good, not too sweet but sweet enough. Creamy, buttery bourbon sauce swirled with syrup drapes three fresh, fluffy pancakes, and the sliced ripe bananas are slightly softened but not caramelized. The coffee was on the dark side and slightly tart for my tastes, but with milk and sugar was alright. The establishment is small though, with just 6 tables and 8 counter seats, and the largest party size is 4 before your group will need to split up. It's an open kitchen, so it's a bit loud, but ample ventilation prevents the space from getting too smoky. Classic 30s through 50s music plays over the ceiling speakers from Frank Sinatra to Louis Armstrong evoking an old timey diner vibe. We will be back to try other things on their menu!"
"Our first visit…. Jazz music welcomed us to this tiny wonderful restaurant of 6 tables and 8 bar seats. Open kitchen is in front behind the bar. Menu has some really different yummy items. I got the Croissant French Toast with Bourbon Banana Sauce and a coffee. It was fantastic. It sounds really sweet, but was not. Just the right sweetness. Coffee was dark and fresh. The service was quick and attentive. We will be back!"
"Look closely or you might drive past this awesome little diner. Our waitress was awesome too, very sweet and offered suggestions. I loved the Bananas Foster French Toast with sides of Breakfast Potatoes and Bacon. Great prices and food."
