"Honestly everything was just a bit disappointing and misleading. Our first time visiting and decided to give this place a try before we headed back home from a trip. We had only appetizers, beer and a cocktail. The beer was the best thing they had. The cocktail described having espresso in it but when I received it, the espresso was apparently the giant whiskey ice cube that barely melted. Not as advertised, but whatever. We got wings, which were just "ok", nothing special but not bad. Its worthy to mention that on their menu they offer multiple flavors of wings, one being "cinnamon". We thought maybe this was a special rub, which piqued our interest, but when we asked they said that not many people order it and that "it's just cinnamon". Honestly it was just strange to have something on the menu that no one ever orders and to just describe it as just cinnamon on a chicken wing is plain weird. The pretzel sticks were likely from the freezer that were cooked, they were fine but not special. The "beer batter" onion rings were flavorless, a bit soggy, and were not fresh - likely a frozen bag of onion rings that were popped in the fryer. The ambiance of the place was a little off. When you walk in the place there is a huge sign on the wall that has a list of "upcharges" for things like "snapping fingers at your waiter" or for "babysitting your children", etc. Just seemed kind of lame (especially for how extensive the sign was) even if it was meant to be something "funny". Just go for the beer when they have a special. If you don't mind bland and mostly frozen food then have at it."
"Every piece of fish I've had tasted fresh but it's their sauces man. They know how to pair them. Or if i just want some fried potatoes to go with some shots you can taste that the fryers are clean. Fun cover bands too."
"I visited this place many times with friends. This time I tried the Carolina pulled pork sandwich good taste. I have to say the service is just ok. I was there with one friend and another friend met us about 20 minutes later. He was shown drink specials food specials. We did not get the same level of service. It's all good."
"The Whitpain Tavern is the best bar in Montgomery County! Friendly staff, really great food, and an awesome atmosphere. Live Bands, a large Bar area and also restaurant in the building. Located on Dekalb Pike."
"Whitpain has an extensive menu. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The pretzels were soft and buttery and the cheese sauce was perfect. The buffalo cauliflower is very good. We’ll be back."
