"Sadly couldn’t recommend this place. We actually ordered takeout from the Greek place right next door but when I got to the location I saw southern food and couldn’t help myself but to order a jambalaya from southern cross as well. I’m sad to report that it was 25$ and barely any chicken or sausage. What you see in the picture was the original portion cut in half. For 25$ though I don’t expect what would essentially be a meatless jambalaya. I was hoping to enjoy this so much to return to sample other menu items, however looking at the menu prices, 16$ for a burrito etc, there’s no way I’ll take another risk on another dish. For those prices I expect top quality, even at modern inflation, but you won’t find it here. The story has a happy ending though. The gyro I had next door was the best I’ve ever ate. ….and it was shockingly 8$. Mind blown."

"1st time here. My daughter brought me for my birthday. My mom was also able to make it. 3 generations celebrating my birthday and I had a wonderful time. We had breakfast boards and I got a eye white veggie omelet. I will definitely come back. The waitress wasn't that attractive as she was prepping the bar for the afternoon crowd. Other than that we had a wonderful time."

"We found ourselves on the way back from South Philadelphia and in need of something to eat. Southern Cross was about midway in our trip so we decided to try it. I was able to make a reservation right from Google Maps (thank you very much). There was plenty of parking around the restaurant but it was all pay for parking. The restaurant has a very cool vibe when you walk in, it was pretty busy when we got there close to 1:00 so reservations are the way to go. After being greeted we were seated right away. The menu is described as southern comfort food which is a good way to describe it. The food menu has enough for everyone but isn't extensive. The drink menu however is pretty robust! I tried the Tea, which is similar to an Arnold Palmer and was REALLY good. I had the chicken sandwich with hot honey and bleu cheese on the side, wow, this was an excellent sandwich! The price was what you would expect to pay for the food, I was under $50 for two people with a cocktail. Our server was great, she was very helpful in selecting the right food for the mood I was in. She did a good job of taking care of us service wise. I'm going to make a point to eat here again, there are many items on the menu I want to try!"
