"This is a solid, locally owned breakfast spot with creative menu choices. One of our favorites is the Elvis - pancakes with chocolate chips, bacon and peanut butter. You also can’t go wrong with putting Nutella in pancakes. They have tons of options for egg and omelet combinations as well. The restaurant is a bit cramped, especially when they are busy. There isn’t a space to for people to wait for a table, which means people waiting are on top of each other and the diners, which also ratchets up the noise level at those times. Overall, I definitely recommend EmJays! We’ll be back to try more items!"
"The food here is consistently good, for the most part, and my wife has the most gluten free options for breakfast of any place that we go to. However, and this is big, they have been in business for a while now and they still operate as if they have no idea what to do with a crowd. Every single time we go there, they always seem shorthanded, and not just by one staff member. Customers mill around at the door in an area with no real room to do so while empty tables go un-bussed. They finally seat you and it's 50/50 whether you will get acknowledged within 10 minutes for your drink order. They finally bring you your drinks and then it's 50/50 whether someone completely different will eventually take your order maybe 15 minutes later. And then you'll wait maybe a half hour, 45 minutes before the food finally shows up. And this is breakfast food, nothing too complex. The last time I was there all of this occurred while the owner (not sure if he is Em or J) literally just stood there and did nothing to help. I'll say this, I've never had RUDE service there, but just completely incompetent overwhelmed service just about every time. As I said, their food is good (one exception - they have THE WORST orange juice I have ever tasted in my life), but I can get food elsewhere that may be nearly as good but I'm paying the check in less time than it takes to even get the food at Em-J's. Em and J, if you're reading this, do better with your staff, because no food is worth this frustration."
"The service here sucks, Yes, it is clean like some the reviews say. But if you are not a regular, they ignore you. Today I went in around 11 am. The cafe was not busy. I did get my ice tea right away, but when it came to ordering my food, two people that came in after me, got their food ordered, and one had his already. I was still being ignored, So I walked out. I have never done this before, but believe me, I will not go back and spread the word."
"Best breakfast place around. Everything I've tried has been delicious. My favorite is "The Elvis" . The staff is amazing! Pictured are the cinnamon roll pancakes and a short stack of French toast with chocolate chips& crumbled bacon. Blueberry crumble French toast"
"Friendly service. The ham, cheddar cheese and spinach omelet along with the potatoes were well seasoned. The pancake batter could use some flavor, maybe a little vanilla extract. But I enjoyed my meal, the atmosphere and the cleanliness of the cafe. I would definitely recommend to others."
