"The Machodoc Creek Marina Cafe is such a welcome addition to the Dahlgren community, which (if we are being honest) really lacks in fresh, tasty, and exciting food options. Jeff, Chef Fred and the entire Cafe team have filled this void and created a gem of a restaurant for the community. Their menu and food options (which rotate frequently) are fantastic and source lots of local ingredients (hello, rockfish sandwich and tacos, crab and corn bisque!). They've also created a cozy and welcoming space - whether it's a beautiful day and you want to sit on their deck or it's a rainy day and you sit inside. The service is always friendly and helpful. I also love all the "themed" events you're starting to do (eg the Valentine's Day) - more of that please! A few recommendations as you continue to evolve: 1) Please continue to do more events around holidays (e.g. Easter, Mother's Day, etc) 2) Consider a "grab and go" open air cooler/fridge with pre-packaged sandwiches/salads (would be great for boaters coming/going and people who work on the base). 3) I know you can't technically have seating on the roof, but perhaps standing tables with umbrellas? 4) A few more wine options, particularly more white/rose options in the warmer months and more red options in the cooler months. 5) Maybe have a couple more kid-friendly items like chicken tenders/fries or cheese pizza."

"One of the best marina’s on the Potomac. Excellent and courteous staff! Even better, they’ve now opened their Cafe and the offerings are delicious! Water taxi and boat fuel available. A must stop if you’re in the area either in your car or on your boat!"

"Came on sea kayak and needed a shore break due to weather. Marina manager was very helpful. Friendly neighbors checked on me and my trip partner. Sure appreciate the hospitality and can't wait until the restaurant is open!"
