"Sad that I have to make this review since I actually really liked this salon. I had booked an appointment for braids over a month ago and it was set for Friday, August 25th. They sent out a text reminder on Wednesday, August 23rd at 11:53 am. I was out and about all day with my phone on do not disturb, so I didn’t see the message. Then, the SAME day they sent out the reminder, I get a message saying they CANCELLED my appointment that I had booked for over a month at 6:41 pm. Not even 24 hrs after they send out the text message. I called the next day (today) to ask why my appointment was cancelled and they said that it’s because they’re busy with back to school and that I didn’t respond fast enough. Sorry that I’m not on my phone at every waking second of the day? I have things to do that don’t include my phone. I asked her, “So my appointment was just given away to someone else?” and she said, “Yeah, basically.” I had been there previously for a keratin treatment and silk press because one of my grandma’s friends raved about Koni and her salon. Just when I thought I found a professional Black salon, they turn around and do the same things an unlicensed stylist would do."

"This is a hard review. Koni does great hair styling. Has great conversations during your visit, but I’m not sure who you have to be to get a second appointment. I tried for 3 weeks to contact her to get my style redone. It wasn’t until Tuesday of the 3rd week that she answers the phone and told me to send a text to the number I was speaking to her on and let her know the time date and style I was looking for. So I did that. It wasn’t until 2 days later that she texted back saying that date wasn’t available and asked if I could do 2 weeks after that. I thanked her and told her my hair had already been done. These are all facts. Just because you’ve been on Oprah doesn’t give you the right to schedule when you want. The customer is paying not the other way around. Black owned, woman owned. Do better."

"I DO NOT RECOMMEND! I had booked for a wig install and she glued the cap to my edges!! when i took it off, my baby hairs went with it. Also, Koni(the owner, my stylist) showed up late and when she did get there, she had people switching in between the chair and was doing multiple heads at a time. She started my hair late and didn’t finish till 5 hrs later because majority of the time she had me burning up under the dryer. I do not recommended booking, but if you do pay close attention to your hair and do not be scared to speak up!"
