The Frogtown Chophouse

"We were generally pleased with Frogtown chophouse. The atmosphere was dark and romantic. The food was good but not exceptional, nothing special. The salmon was done well, and my husband enjoyed his duck. I will probably return. We live within 30 minutes of the restaurant, and believe me, a good eating establishment is hard to find around here. Many restaurants in our area cater to tourists, expensive and just OK to good food. For romantic and good service, this was the best we found around here."

"I work in a kitchen so the last thing I wanted to do on thanksgiving was cook for me and my son. But we both wanted a traditional turkey dinner. A friend recommended the Frogtown Chophouse takeout Thanksgiving dinner for two. It came with 1/2 roast turkey which I’ll give a 10. The mashed potatoes and gravy also a 10, the stuffing an 8, the sautéed green beans a 10, the salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing a 10, and the pumpkin pie with chocolate cupcakes a 10. I especially liked that both desserts weren’t overly sweet. The dinner rolls weren’t great but honestly who cares? The portions were amazingly generous and we both were thoroughly satisfied so we went out in the yard and enjoyed a Thanksgiving campfire."

"I can't say enough about this gem in the countryside. The atmosphere is amazing. A rustic and romantic experience. Having a meal here just for the ambiance would be worth it. On top of that, the food and drink was outstanding. We went the first time on a weekend trip. We were hungry and this place was on the map. We arrived without a reservation to a full house, but the owner got us into a table. The service was so welcoming and friendly. We tried an espresso martini that was the best I have ever had, and I have had a lot of those :) The food was amazing as well. On our long weekend, we had to go back again. This time with a reservation. This wonderful place made our anniversary dinner one to remember. Make sure to go here, if you are anywhere close."

"We came early at 4:35pm and had a drink at the bar. We got seated and ordered the edge salad. We got a complementary crostini. OMG my husband and I split the meal. It was big like for three people. We ordered the Chef grill that came with 14 ounce Delmonico steak, 4 ounce crab cake and 6 ounce lobster tail . We had the green beans and substitute the fries for wild rice. It was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection. My complement to the Chef. Our server was McKenzie who was great and very attentive. We took dessert home. We took the bread pudding and the hummingbird cake with fruit. Look at the pictures."
