The Scratch Kitchen & Anthracite Room

"If you're traveling don't come here. It's one of those local favorites but isn't that good type of places. I'm extremely disappointed with the food here. I came here a year and a half maybe 2 years ago and the food was so good. They were the first place I ate at that correctly cooked scrambled eggs and didn't over cook them. The home fries were absolutely incredible and cooked perfectly as well. I got scrambled eggs, home fries, and corned beef hash and I was so disappointed. The eggs were over cooked and the home fries were just sliced soggy potatoes, They were not evenly cooked at all and the seasoning was beyond uneven. One bite would be bland and the next had a mouth full of black pepper. The corned beef hash wasn't the worst but it was pretty dry. Our waitress was great but utensils were never left at our table and we didn't notice until we got our food. Our waitress got my food taken off the bill which was nice of her but I don't mind paying even if it's bad because I choose to leave reviews instead. I won't be going back."

"This place was SO busy for breakfast on a Saturday morning, that we barely were able to find a spot to park. I was apprehensive about going in and battling a crowd, but guess what?? Not only did we get seated promptly, but the waitresses were all easy going, friendly, and not stressed at all! They were amazing, and the food was amazing! My Eggs Benedict was done to perfection, and the Potatoes Calabrese were great too. The biggest surprise was the Corned Beef Hash! Check out this picture, then imagine how fast it disappeared! I can't wait to go back - there were so many cool things on the breakfast menu!"

"There's a reason this place is always busy and usually has a wait... Because it's that good! The food does not disappoint. We had the marscapone and strawberry French toast, jersey fries, and the Italian csnnoli pancakes. Everything was delicious! The waitress was very nice too. The coffee isn't great, but the food makes up for what it lacks. I highly recommend going here, it's worth waiting for."
