"Beautiful waterfall. Visited after some heavy rains so the falls were flowing strong, but surrounding roads were not easily accessible because of the rain. I walked from a couple of miles away but it was worth it. A must see."
"It’s an adventurous hike but it’s a small hike with 1.2 mile. We made our hike long from buttermilk falls to woods trail pond and from there to crater pond loop a total of 10.1 mile. Do not try to do the hike with running shoes."
"Beautiful fall (even though it was not as full as I had expected) that is right there once you arrive without requiring any hiking or long walks. However, take caution when driving along the road to get there. Extremely bumpy with ditches and rocks that can scratch your car. Behind the fall, there is a viewing platform that provides a different scenery. Nothing special. Steep stairs if you decide to go up to it. Past that is the hiking trail which we attempted. Not entirely sure the length of it, but we spent over an hour through the trail which can get very steep with fallen trees that you have to climb over. Not recommended for families with children or elderlies. Lastly and the worst thing about it is that the road was closed leading out of the area (west bound on Mountain Rd). However, there was no indication of it and you won't realize until you drive there. So we had to go back and drive along the same road we took to get to the falls. Also, there are no restrooms by the fall. There are some along the road to get there that we saw. Overall, decent experience. Maybe worth a few pictures, but nothing to write home about."
"Very rocky and steep hike. At the end of the hike you reach the Appalachian trail. No views on the trail. But the soothing sound of water all the way. Engaging hike. Please wear proper shoes. If you don't want to hike at all the waterfall is right across the parking lot."
"The waterfall is absolutely gorgeous. I visited it in December when we had our first snow of the season and it was incredible. The road to the waterfall has tons of potholes. In winter it is almost impossible to see them under the snow. Drive very slowly not to damage your car. But it is worth visiting because the waterfall is breathtaking."
