"Shane is awesome. Went in to get a new bow which became a complete personal fitting, as well as gave me tips on with form. You can tell as soon as you start talking to him that he is the real deal. He knows bows and bow hunting as well as anyone you’ll meet. The customer service is absolutely top notch. I had a string snap, and didn’t have another one in-stock. Instead of telling me that he would order me one. He asked me what colors and made me a custom one on the spot. He isn’t one to push or try to upsell, I gave him a budget and he built me a great bow. Only person around that I would let tune my bow. 10/10."
"I'm not sure why my review was removed, but about 5 or 6 years ago I brought my bow to get restrung and tuned. This was back when he was in Gamber. It cost $250. The bow wasn't shooting right after that, so I took a closer look. The rest was not lighned up, and my nocking point wasn't level with the height of the rest. I had to fix it myself right before the season. If I'm paying that much, I would not expect have to fix the job he didn't do. I will not go back to him for bow servicing."
"After going to 3+ shops in the area i found the expert and that is Shane at the Bowhunters Den... Shane is a professional in every meaning of the word!! Shane has never let me down and is always honest when it comes to what is best for you as a bow shooter / hunter and he is honest when it comes to timelines which is very important today when timelines can be all over the place. Shane tunes my bow for me every year and Even when I was down in North Carolina for School i would still bring my Bow to Shane even though there was a local shop in my town. I will go to nobody but Shane because he is the best in the business!"
"Shane is probably a good hunter and teacher, but his garage-based business is not what I expected. I took my bow there to be restrung—frustrating experience (much like Cindy below). He told me my draw length was too long and that he would shorten it. Quoted me $144 for string and cable. When he FINALLY had the bow ready, the draw was still too long. He said I needed a new mod and that I should call the manufacturer. What? The bow was unusable two days before an out-of-state hunt. He said I would have had better luck if I brought the bow in during January. What? Then he charged me $166. When I asked why, he said he couldn’t get me a regular string, so he had to get me a good string. What? He chose to make a few more dollars on the sale and lose a possible long-term client. There aren’t too many archery options in the metro area, and for me, there is now one less."
"Visited Shane on 10/20/2021 for a bow lesson. This guy is great and has more years of bow hunting than I have living. Great experience when I started groups were 10-12 inches at 12-15 yards. After implementing his strategies (1 hour) we were able to get the group to within 4-5 inches at 20-23 yards. I'm not sure if there are more advanced lessons but I'd definitely recommend Bowhunters Den Outdoors to anyone attempting to improve."
