About the Okehocking Preserve
Okehocking Preserve, located in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, is a 180-acre park with meadows, wetlands, woodlands, and over 7 miles of natural surface trails for passive recreation. Owned by Willistown Township and protected by a conservation easement held by Willistown Conservation Trust, the preserve is a sanctuary for wildlife and a place of historical significance as the first Native American land grant in the American colonies. Visitors can explore the diverse ecosystems, bird watch in the Important Bird Area #72, and participate in trail workshops and programs offered by Penn Trails. The Okehocking Nature Center, which once operated in the preserve, has left a legacy of environmental education initiatives, including a self-guided tour. Parking is available at two locations on Delchester Road and West Chester Pike, and the park is open from dawn to dusk for all to enjoy the beauty of nature and the rich history of the land.

Reviews of Okehocking Preserve
"A very picturesque and varied preserve, with scenic mixtures of rolling fields, well-blazed mixed woods, and lovely meandering creekside trails. Great for the whole family, dogs, and children."
"A serene and quiet place to spend some time in a day in solitude or in company of dear ones. An ideal place for physical fitness enthusiasts as well as dog owners. Dogs love to play in the open greens with their daily regular friends. Different trails available for all categories of nature lovers and regular exercise. The scenic panoramic view all around is breathtaking. An ideal place for meditating in nature's lap. The odor of the treated water being sprayed may be neutralised with the vastness of the area. Worth visiting every day especially early morning."
"Beautiful views on this preserve. There’s a few trails and the two I’ve been on when I visited were relatively easy and short. I’ve done the hikes with an older person and a child and we’ve all had a good time. Sighted a few different birds, including a heron."
"I love this park so much. They've added more trash cans since the last time I visited, and that is super helpful for people who walk their dogs through the park. It has some gravel paths, some wooded paths, lots of sunshine, and a nice little creek area too. As far as I know, there's only a port-a-potty in one area, but everything seems to be well-maintained. Definitely worth a visit."
"Just beautiful any time of day, especially at sunset. Off leash dog park, paved and unpaved trails. Nice little spots with cute little barns and things."
