About Us
Crum Woods is a beautiful 200-acre woodland located at 500 College Avenue, Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, United States. This natural area is managed by the Scott Arboretum and offers a variety of horticultural displays and educational programming for visitors of all ages. The woods feature the Outdoor Amphitheater, holly and rhododendron collections, and numerous walking trails overlooking Crum Creek.
Visitors can enjoy the serene and authentic horticultural experiences while supporting the Arboretum through donations, membership, and participation in special events. The Arboretum works diligently to maintain the gardens and plant collections, replacing invasive species with native trees and shrubs with the help of dedicated volunteers.
Crum Woods is open from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year, with office hours from Monday to Friday. "Want to enjoy nature? Like to hike? Then crumb woods is the place. I went out to clear my head, decided to go for a walk. The crumb wood is accessed within the Swarthmore College campus. I parked in the back lot (sorry to whoever the faculty member was who lost their spot) entered right across from my spot and started my adventure. The trails there are marked, the college keeps up on them, I wore boots for added traction,, but you could do it with sneakers. The best part of the trails are that some are along Crumb Creek. This led me to several potential fishing spots I plan to hit this spring. All in all it was a good time, the people on the trail were friendly, and found so artwork along the way. Definately worth the trip if you are looking for a day out!"
