Reviews of Skippack Creek Loop Hike
"Did this trail while in a dry spell in the summer There were lots of yellow jackets but after some cold spells not an issue."
"This trail feels very private. Some rough terrain here and there but an overall easy trail. It is my favorite and most beautiful hike around"
"All of the reviews in AllTrails mention how muddy the trail is so I was expecting a sloppy mess after the melting of snow and ice. I was right. The trail was soupy! Nothing a good pair of grippy, waterproof hiking boots can't handle. Very nice, easy trail. Avoided some of the muddy sections by walking along the water. The trail was marked well enough to be easy to follow. Just under 5 miles total. This isn't a sneaker trail when muddy. Your feet will be slipping in all directions. I'd recommend at least trail shoes for some traction if you don't mind mushy socks. Otherwise, waterproof hiking boots. Several lots, but I parked at the State Park Pavilion A. Bathroom available at the park before hitting the trail."
"This is a nice loop hike. It is just short of 5 miles. A nice place to start is at the Evansburg State Park Pavilion A. If you start there, there is not a lot of elevation change. The main hill to go down is at the start and at the end to come back up to the main parking area. There are bathrooms at this starting point. From this point south on the northwest side of the creek, the trail is well marked (yellow blazes) and is free of horse manure. The same is true of the southwest side of the creek. The northern half of the northwest side of the creek is shared with horses and is more muddy, has manure, and is not well marked. Overall it is a pleasant hike with much of the time having a few of the creek."
"Took a nice 2 mile walk through the woods. A beautiful area!"
