Tobyhanna State Park, located in northeastern Pennsylvania, offers visitors a scenic retreat in Monroe and Wayne counties. The 5,440-acre park features the 170-acre Tobyhanna Lake, perfect for boating and fishing. However, please note that the beach may be closed due to water sample failures until acceptable results are received.
Visitors should also be aware of the presence of the invasive spotted lanternfly in the area. Help prevent the spread of this harmful insect by inspecting your belongings before leaving the park.
For those exploring the more remote areas of the park, be cautious of old, unexploded artillery shells that may be encountered. If you come across any of these items, do not touch them and report their location to the park office for proper disposal.
To make reservations or inquire about the park, contact 888-PA-PARKS or visit online. The park entrance is conveniently located just north of Tobyhanna on PA 423, with easy access from I-380 and Interstate 84.

"We came to kayak. Nice, relaxing paddle! The boat launch is easily accessible for both trucks with trailers (make sure you have an electric motor) and for vehicles with roof racks. Easy to put our boats in/out even with a 6yo. They also have rentals. I have also been here to swim at the beach. The geese tend to leave a little bit of a mess and there's a bit of algae but it is a nice place to meet friends with kids for picnic (there are picnic tables), swim, playground fun. Swim area is roped off in the water. No lifeguards. There are public bathhouses but you need coins for the showers. I'm local so I just head home."
