Reviews of Sand Island Park
"I recently visited Sand Island Park park and it was a wonderful experience. The park is well-maintained and was very clean . The park is also home to biking and hiking hiking trails that offer stunning views of the surrounding area. I would highly recommend this attraction to anyone looking for a safe fun and educational day out especially with children. Enjoy your visit!"
"Sand Island is the City of Bethlehem's popular riverfront park, with the D&L Trail, tennis courts, basketball court, and flush toilets. The restroom facilities range from poor to vile. An embarrassment to the city. There is boat ramp for access to the Lehigh River located in the upstream end of the park."
"Homeless people abound poor maintenance of equipment and Facilities it's a shame the city spent so much money and watch it just deteriorate. I guess they put that money toward Music Fest anymore do not go down there alone it's not safe at least I didn't feel safe they have nice basketball courts there also and you can see the piles of trash by the baskets. It's a shame because there's garbage cans 10 ft away. But I guess just shows the quality of people using the facilities more matcha just leave your trash on the ground then throw it in the garbage can. Welcome"
"When you get to the trail, it can be very quiet and serene. Overall, I enjoyed my walk. However, the canal was filled with trash, and I did have a few people come talk to me intoxicated at the first bench on sand island… nothing too bad, but it was a bit uncomfortable for a Tuesday afternoon; I would just be careful. I hope someone can clean up the trash as there was a lot of wildlife in the area I believe there are better entry points to the trail if you are going for a run. However, I am unsure where they are. I will update this when I find out."
"We had a lovely time at this park and walking path. The fall colors were gorgeous and the bridges were great for photo opportunities."
