"Lovely historic park with an amphitheatre. It was built during the early twentieth century and features walking paths, amazing war memorials, and incredible trees. No playground or similar amenities. It's for relaxing and walking with an occasional concert or community event such as an annual art show."

"I love this small community park in the west end of Allentown PA!! My children called it the "tree park" when they were growing up because of all the different types of trees that are planted here. If you are interested in the history of the park, you can read about/see how the park was planned along with an explanation of why they put the trees where they are by reviewing the placard at the east side of the park. There is a beautiful band shell where local municipal bands. A few of the local bands I have seen perform there are Pioneer Band of Allentown, Allentown Band and the Allentown Marine band amongst a few others not listed here, perform concerts for the public. When the park was designed also planned a section of the park that has been dedicated to the fallen war heroes of Allentown PA and I absolutely love the beautiful fountain in the center of the park (currently off for the season)!! There are benches along the paths that run through West End Park as well as an area where you can sit in a small grove of trees. Families and friends can donate to the park and it's wonderful foliage and atmosphere in the memory of someone they lost. I am not certain of the criteria for donations or memorials for loved ones who have passed away. There isn't a playground in this park, however, one can find open space in the grass to spread a picnic or to play some stickball with the local kids as I saw them playing this game from so long ago just last week!! Among This truly is a treasure here in our great city of Allentown PA!!"

"One more lovely park in the Lehigh Valley. West Park has a mid year show series that is great! The Allentown Band performs regularly and exhibits tunes from Duke Ellington, Glenn Mill operator, Sammy Davis Jr and the other most prominent authors and performers. Stopping is restricted however that is the idea of metropolitan parks. West Park is a jewel amidst Allentown."

"Beautiful, little, quiet park. It was the first park in Allentown. Nice memorials to soldiers from the area, and the fountain is peaceful."

"Very small park but it has a lot to see. It has a lot of monuments and statues with a lot of history associated with them. *For those that play Pokemon go, this place has a lot of pokestops.* The only negative thing here is that even though they have washrooms, they are locked. What's the point of having them if you just keep them locked? There is a pretty nice fountain with benches around it."
