About the Beltzville State Park
Beltzville State Park, located at 2950 Poho Poco Drive in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, is a 3,002-acre park in the southern foothills of the Poconos. The park features the 949-acre Beltzville Lake, fed by the excellent trout stream Pohopoco Creek. This lake is a popular destination for boaters and anglers, as well as a resting place for migrating waterfowl. The park also offers a sandy beach, picnic pavilions, and a variety of recreational facilities, thanks to a cooperative effort between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, DCNR's Bureau of State Parks, and the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
Visitors can make online reservations or call toll-free for more information. Beltzville State Park offers environmental education and recreation programs from March to October, aimed at increasing awareness and appreciation for the park's natural and historical resources. The park's environmental center and amphitheater host educational programs, and the park is ADA accessible.
One of the park's highlights is the original covered bridge, built in 1841 by local craftsman Jacob Buck. This bridge, once used by horse and buggy traffic and later by cars, is now open for pedestrian use between the picnic areas and the beach. Directions to the nearest hospital, St. Luke's Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, are posted at the park office.
Beltzville State Park is a proud part of Pennsylvania's history, founded in 1681 as a place of tolerance and freedom. Visit the park to enjoy nature, learn about the environment, and relax by the beautiful Beltzville Lake.

Reviews of Beltzville State Park
"Beautiful nature trails to walk, along the lake. A nice variety of Butterflies and migratory birds visits there. I enjoy walking around here all seasons."
"This review is concerning the boat launch part of Beltzville as it does not involve consumption of E.coli infused water. Beautiful lake. Easy access. Even when busy there is space to launch kayaks and canoes. A lot of powered vehicles. Wakes are fun in canoes. A lot of wildlife. Worth checking out!!!"
"we were staying in AIRBNB nearby and my wife found this park "attraction near me". this state park has to offer something for every age group. Picnic, swimming in lake, BBQ, park, kayaking, Jet skiing, etc...seems like There’s no shortage of outdoor adventure in the Pocono Mountains just over an hour from Philadelphia, it is popular with those who enjoy exploring the great outdoors. visitors can enjoy more than 500 feet of sandy shoreline along Beltzville Lake. This swimming beach is open during the summer months, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, from 8:00 a.m. to sunset. much of the park is centered around a beautiful lake, providing plenty of opportunities for fishing, swimming, boating, picnic, and hiking. As Beltzville State Park is a day-use recreational facility, no camping is available onsite."
"Grew up near here and have always loved the area. There are more trails than before and many are suitable for people with dogs and kids. At the main site there are a few bird blinds and a very small naturey play area. They used to have a playground but no longer. Lots of Pokemon if that's your thing. Nice soccer fields and picnic areas. Seasonal volleyball, boat rental is available. I've only seen the educational building open once a year. Outside of the main area there are two boat launches, one with a handicapped kayak put in. Fishing is allowed off of boats or along the shore -no dock fishing. During holidays and summer season they close off the trails (outside of the main area) because excessive picnicking and resultant excessive traffic, litter, and noise pollution has caused damage to the ecosystems and trails. Swimming is only allowed seasonally at the beach (which is sandy), however there are no lifeguards posted. Please don't try to swim if you don't know how and don't jump off cliffs -there can be large boulders you can't see. Those two activities have claimed the lives of many people over the years. No alcohol is allowed anywhere. I don't think they have a concession stand during the busy season. They used to when I was young. Nowadays most locals avoid Beltzville during the summer and holidays."
