Reviews of Aqua-Terra Wilderness Area
"It was muddy the day we went, but had a nice hike around the lake. This is an absolutely beautiful park."
"Great for exercise! Close up hill hike you can get to in a few mins. I didn’t get a pic of the trail up the mountain. Nice easy hike around the pond on the other side of the road."
"We've hiked and fished this park. It's very nice if a bit rustic. Blazed trails but no bathrooms. The only thing I was annoyed by is how many people use it as a dog park. I'm not comfortable bringing my dog because of how many unleashed dogs running a ways from their owners I've seen."
"A bit of a neglected Broome County county park. The mountain was formerly Innsbruck USA ski resort but all that is left is a few overgrown paths and steep 4 wheeler and motorbike trails. I did find the original bulkheads for the ski T-bars. The pond side is much flatter and easier to walk but needs a few small bridges to navigate all the water runoff into the lake."
"Part of this site is where the long defunct Innsbruck USA ski area once was, so many of the trails were once ski slopes. There are isolated remnants of ski lift infrastructure visible at times. Very nice hiking up and down the hills. Part of the Aqua Terra site is on the opposite side of Maxine road, and there you'll find a beautiful pond surrounded by wonderfully wooded hills upon which are more trails. Also of interest to some are fascinating sedimentary rock outcroppings that provide a hint of the long geologic history of these very ancient hills."
