"This place is a dump. No breakfast , no bar and pool was not open. You get a brown bagged breakfast. The room we were given stank of chlorine from pool you couldnt use. Needs completely redone and only saw one girl at desk, who had to come let us in room because our door swipe gadget wouldnt work. Not given choice for another room. Trust me they were not busy. We choose to leave and go to another hotel. This was in August of 2022."
"Returned to my home town for a reunion. Have stayed in this location over the past 40 years whenever we needed a room. Not going to happen again. Used to have "service". Used to be "friendly". Used to be "clean". The only good thing was the memories of my hometown and past experiences. I should have read previous reviews. Pool was closed. Breakfast consisted of a bag from the front desk with a "tiny" bottle of water, a bottle of orange juice, and a egg and cheese muffin in a plastic bag for microwaving with notice "Only one per person". Nothing like the last time we were in town where they offered the continental breakfast. Pot holes in the parking lot. No coffee maker in the rooms. No microwave in the room. Room rate should have alerted me. My bad!"
"I don't even know where to start with this place. I really wish I had taken photos to better explain the experience. This was definitely the worst hotel I had during a road trip and I only stayed one night. The staff was lovely and it's not their fault the hotel is old and grimy and gross. The hallways are damp from the pool and stink of chlorine. The rooms are ridiculously out of date and have a generally unclean feeling about them. I didn’t even feel safe leaving my shoes on the floor, much less my luggage. I stayed in a room on the first floor across from the pool area. There are sliding glass doors in the room that lead to a weird sitting area that overlooks the pool/party area. The doors are secured by a pole in the track, but our pole was bent and didn’t give me a lot of faith in the security of the room. Contrast that to the main door to the room that stuck so bad it was a fire hazard. I am not a small woman by any stretch of the imagination and I had to full on shoulder my way in to the room. It was painfully loud even with a box fan that I brought with for noise reduction. Keep in mind I live in an apartment in a major city, and the noise in this hotel was worse than anything at home. Everything echoes because of the pool area. The curtains don't really block the light from the walkway right outside the sliding doors, so don't plan on sleeping well at all. The bathroom had no exhaust so there was a bunch of black mold because the walls are textured, so there’s no real way to clean them. The hot water ran out quickly, so my partner and I had to space out our showers. The carpet had seen better days about 10 years ago. Dust and grime on basically everything. I’m sure the humidity from the pool was a big cause of this. Speaking of the pool, it ended up closing just after I checked in. After a long day in the car I was really looking forward to a nice shower and then a float. However, after I got out of the shower and dressed for the pool, I walked out and they had closed it. Some issue with the pump or filter. Considering the rest of the building, it may have been for the best as I have no idea how clean the pool would have been. As for building security, the back door entrance should have required the key card for it to unlock. As it was, you could just pull the door open. Seeing as how that entrance and short hallway ran right to the door to my room, I wasn’t thrilled. Maybe that’s why the door to my room was impossible to open. Breakfast was a brown paper bag with a small water bottle and juice. You had to microwave your breakfast sandwich near the lobby and then figure out how to carry that back to the room. No kettle for tea, you have to ask the staff to heat up the water, so you’re carrying cups of hot tea and plates of food with no trays. The location is really the shining light of this place. It was a very short drive to the Rimrock Overlook trail, the State Park, and the National Forest. Overall, I really can’t recommend this place. Just not a very good experience. I ended up asking for a discount on the room due to all of these reasons and the manager accommodated my request without issue. Again, the staff were very nice and none of the things I mentioned would be in their control."
"The king size bedroom is very roomy and the bathroom is clean. The service is not like other hotels were they provide fresh towels daily. If you want new towels you will need to let the front desk know. The bathroom is fine it has a basic shower head and bath tub. The tv is very basic so don’t expect to be able to mirror shows from your phone. If your hiking in the Allegheny national forest this hotel is really convenient and very nice."
"Our recent stay was fairly pleasant, until our ceiling started to leak. The receptionist tried to say it was because of recent rains. We weren't even on the top floor. Even tho they offered to move us to a different room (we only had one more night), we ended up checking out a day early. Otherwise, it's a pleasant place to stay. The pool is heated and the views from our room were gorgeous."
