Reviews of Red Dragon Chinese Restaurant
"Great food, good prices. Not entirely different than most take out restaurants, but definitely worth a try if in the area. Very fast as well."
"Highly recommend! I got the stinky tofu (臭豆腐)and the eggplant stuffed with pork (茄子釀肉), and both were insanely delicious. The stinky tofu was just like how it is back in Taiwan, and the eggplant was perfectly cooked. It had a lovely crisp on the outside and was creamy on the inside. Also, the shrimp and pork filling was savory and worked perfectly with the eggplant. (Unfortunately I forgot to get a picture of the eggplant!) If I lived in the neighborhood, I would be coming every week!"
"Pretty good for a tiny Chinese spot located near a vape shop. There are lots of different more popular Chinese/Asian restaurants located near this place, but it's still got solid food. I ordered the fried dumplings, spring rolls, and brown sugar boba tea (also known as bubble tea). The dumplings here were just fine. They didn't stand out, and they weren't particularly flavorful, but they were pretty good. The restaurant didn't label them as pork dumplings, but I'm almost certain they are made with pork. Not much of a vegetable flavor, and pork quality isn't as great as you might get elsewhere, but they are enjoyable with that tasty dumpling sauce. The outer covering is somewhat flimsy. Decent portion. Boba tea was enjoyable and surprisingly cheap at only $5 for a large amount. The pearls were chewy, as they should be, and they put in a lot of these pearls (almost too many). Still, the tea itself was quite flavorful. It's difficult to describe the flavor; it was sweet, but didn't have much of a 'brown sugar' flavor in particular. Surprisingly, my favorite part of the meal were the spring rolls. Usually, they get somewhat soggy or stale when waiting and spending time in the car. But, when I arrived home, they were still crispy! The inside of the spring roll was packed with vegetables. It was all around near perfect. Plus, the price was super reasonable. All in all, is Red Dragon the best Asian food in the area? Probably not. But, they've got good spring rolls, and the food is pretty cheap. The food is still fairly good, too. If you do come here, be sure to try those spring rolls."
"The portion felt small, maybe because I eat a lot when I get takeout, but the trays certainly seemed like they were left over from a time when ingredients were cheaper. No issues with the taste. General Tso's had sweet notes and didn't get soggy on the drive home, so a robust breading. I do like the smaller chunks because they're easier to handle. Plenty of extra sauce, too, which I plan to use next time I cook. The appetizer Salt and Pepper Chicken was disappointing, though, meat pounded so thin that it was basically all breading."
"Placed an online order and specifically wrote in the order I had a tree nut allergy. Got about ten minutes into eating and realized my dish contained many unidentifiable nuts. Being in the sauce made it hard to determine their true color and flavor. The menu is cashew and peanut primarily in terms of sauce, so it could be either, and for me the former is a problem. On top of that, I would not call the person who gave me my order any sort of friendly or polite. And of all the General Tso’s tofu dishes in the area, this is definitely the furthest off base. Thin, runny sauce. Tofu is not breaded. All around unpleasant experience. Will not go back. It’s not unreasonable to ask for good service and care and concern for the well-being of customers with allergies."
