Reviews of Great Clips
"The 1 star is not representative of the store, but 1 person. Anna (actual name or not) was my barber. I'm pretty tolerable but the disrespect deserves a review. First time I had to stop a haircut due to someone's rudeness. Starting off she either has an attitude from a long day, normal personality, or I read it wrong. Wasn't a fan, but not my business. Tolerable Beginning the haircut she doesn't wet my hair or anything she just begins aggressively tugging through my thick and long curly hair...then tells ME to keep my head straight. Again, not a fan, rather frustrating, but tolerable. Not the worst situation. It starts going downhill when she's using the bare razor to clean up my edges. The moment she starts it begins nipping at my skin. I've cut my own hair before and poor equipment can do that. I usually dab some liquid on it to make sure it's not pulling in my skin and we're good to go. No harm no foul. When I jerk away at the first nip she doesn't ask what's wrong she stares at me annoyed. Then proceeds along. Unsurprisingly I jerk away again from being nipped. And again, she stares annoyed. I SAY, it's nipping me. Then she had the audacity to say back, "it's not nipping you". After that. The attitude, the disrespect, and the rudeness was no longer tolerable. When I told her I was done with the haircut she proceeded to tell me repeatedly "you have sensitive skin," that not a single barber in the last decade EVER said. She told me she was gonna write it on my profile and sounds it out loud as we're standing at the check-out. "Ssseeennssitive ssskkkin". Paid full price for an unfinished, unsatisfying, and unpleasant haircut."
"Kevin is the reason I come to this Great Clips location. Kevin is very professional, great to have a conversation with, and cuts my hair perfectly every single time. Kevin has a customer for life!"
"This is a public service announcement not to risk a random stylist at this place. I asked for a very minor trim because I didn't want to give them the chance to screw it up until I could see my actual barber. Didn't work. She raked the sides with a #5, no getting my hair off my ears, no blending, and the blades were clearly not sharp because I got home and had to use my beard trimmer to shape around my ears and trim dozens of random stray hairs sticking out everywhere (something I had to repeat daily for a week as more as I spotted them). The lighting was not good so the extent of the damage wasn't really visible inside. But I could tell it was bad. Only took ten minutes and she clearly did not care. On the top, she just hacked at my head with scissors, leaving overly short hairs front and center that I'm struggling to style off to the side. And it looks like a just a straight chop at the back of my neck, again no blending whatsoever. My actual barber is going to give me so much stick when he has to fix this next week. Lesson learned. This is beyond being poorly trained, they just don't give a damn, no wonder the place is practically empty."
"Not a good experience whatsoever. I went in for a low taper and showed the barber a reference picture (shortest point was a 3 guard) Barber started with a 0 guard. This was fine if it was a mistake and I asked her politely to not go short further on. She then blamed me for providing a bad picture and proceeded with more damage. I was practically half bald before I had to put a stop. Throughout the short cut she was quite rude and didn’t look like she cared. She ran the 0 guard trimmer carelessly and told me “you Indians move too much during haircuts”. That last remark made me stop and leave. It was racist and when I asked her for her name and that I felt offended. She continued with attitude and refused to give me her name. She said she didn’t care and that there was nothing I could do. As someone new to the Arlington area I was disappointed and don’t recommend this Great clips to anyone. The stylist by description was a female barber with dyed blonde/brown hair."
