"Dec 23 update ==> Another successful visit. This time we tried the Shah Plov amongst other dishes that we did not have the chance to try on our first visit. See pictures for what we got. Food was again excellent, as was the service. In speaking with the waitress and chef, we found our that this coming week they will be changing their complete menu around and approach. The messages conflicted a bit, so I will have to wait and see what transpires, but be aware that as of next week, none of these dishes may be available any longer... ========================================= The culinary scene in Pittsburgh has been expanding over the past years and this includes both creative chefs as well as lesser-known ethnic cuisines. This review is of a relatively lesser-known cuisine from Azerbaijan. Since that is a small country in Asia, and itself is subjected to many cross-currents over its history for foods from other countries in the region, the menu is actually quite extensive and contains dishes from many of the surroundings. We’ve been to this location under its previous ownership and the new ownership upgraded the look. It now features table clothes and other amenities that have moved it in the direction of more fine dining. They do not serve alcohol, but do support BYOB with a $10 per bottle corkage fee. As mentioned in the first paragraph, the menu is quite extensive. Since more everyone who reads this will not be familiar with the food, it helpfully contains both descriptions of the dishes as well as gorgeous full color photographs – which is extremely helpful. What was also very helpful was the staff! Our party of seven is not conversant in that cuisine so we asked our waitress for help and she gladly offered a series of recommendations. When we mentioned some dietary restrictions, she was able to change some of her suggestions right on the spot which was very much appreciated. Since we wanted to sample a broad range of things, we ended up ordering three different soups, three appetizers, three main dishes, and three desserts – which we all ended up sharing. This was an ample amount of food and we took home leftovers. Price per person was in the $40 range. With so many different items to choose from, and that we tried, I cannot describe them all here. Suffice it to say that at the end of the meal we all agreed that we needed to come back and try more items from their menu as we had not come close to exhausting the interesting choices. The biggest debate we had was which one of the items we had this night we would want to have again – many of the ones we tried made that list! Service was great – personable and friendly. Flavors were top notch. Definitely a place we will come back to again."

"Chicken Shish Kabob was excellent and even better considering the price. The chicken was extremely well cooked and well seasoned, I would definitely order it again. The Mangal Salad was good too, something you don’t see often. Tomato Kabob could’ve been skipped, but for $3 the Potato Kabob is worth it (and better than french fries in my opinion). Great take out option, everything was packaged well and I really enjoyed my food. I will get takeout here again and am excited to try the rest of the menu."

"This place reminds me of my childhood. Whenever I eat here I can’t get enough from the tasty foods. Homemade food is always the best. Highly recommended. You won’t regret it eating here. The food, the design, atmosphere and service top graded. ❤️"

"As new parents we do not get out much and we finally had a chance to get out for date night. We are so glad we chose Caspian Corner. The flavors of the food were just fantastic - we almost licked the plates! I loved the menu with clear descriptions and attractive photos. The atmosphere is slightly elevated, attentive, and friendly. The herbs and spices and fresh vegetables all marinating together with tender meats truly made for a memorable meal. We greatly enjoyed our evening here and look forward to returning when we can!"

"Adorable little place, amazing staff, great food. Going to have to come back, we had tickets for a show and needed to rush a bit. Definitely a place we should have come to for a leisurely meal. Literally right next to the parking garage, which is very convenient for the area"
