"Lauren was an absolute delight. She made up for the rather bland dinner. Everything was well cooked, but lacking any real seasoning. My husband thought the demiglaze on his pork chop was excellent, but it was the only thing he said had and flavor. All told, we had the brussels sprouts appetizer, French onion soup, pork chops and almond chicken. I have to agree with him. His demiglaze was the only thing flavorful. Considering it was across the board, we didn't mention it, assumed it was just par for the course there."

"One of my favorite places to visit whenever I come home to Pittsburgh. It's not an overcrowded menu but everything the do they do well. One bad note on this last visit was that they were out of a few items on their specials menu on a Monday evening. One of the seafood items was sold out which is a possibility for a 7:30 Monday night seating, but to be sold out of a particular wine on your daily specials menu was I felt not really good planning. However it won't affect my decision to come here often when I come home."

"I've been a patron of this restaurant for many years and have found almost every visit to be wonderful. For more than a decade I have brought vendors, family and friends to Bistro 19. Last night, things were quite different. The service was mediocre (at best) and the food was not well prepared. We both ordered the "Bistro Salad" but the salads were literally drenched with dressing. My friend did not eat hers, but I ate mine. I mentioned this to the server (name not mentioned here, but our reservation was at 6:30 and paid the bill at 7:30), who asked if we wanted additional salads and said she would mention it to the "new person" who prepared them. Of course, rather than remove the salads from the bill as any respectable restaurant would have done, they were both on there when we paid the check. I did not want to create an issue since we were there to celebrate a recent milestone in life, so we just paid the check and left. I'm not sure what has changed recently at Bistro 19, but our celebration was definitely tainted by the experience last night."

"This place is rath plane and basic from the outside, but inside it’s very nice! Somewhat upscale (cloth napkins, etc), with a very creative menu, and excellent service. Came here for lunch with a coworker and really enjoyed the entire experience, from the food to the service. Their fish sandwich is HUGE, with a fried cod filet on it that’s three times larger than the bun! The cheeseburger soup (which was the soup of the day when I stopped in) was creative, tasty and, really enjoyable! Save room for dessert though, they have an amazing dessert menu! I would most definitely return and highly recommend stopping in to try it for yourself!"

"Unreal! BISTRO has never disappointed me. I been going to bistro since 2014. Their seasonal set menus with wine pairing is second to none in the city. The delicacy the chefs are able to produce is outstanding. My wife and I just had the joy of the 2022 apple menu. I added the wine pairing. We can’t stop talking about it, and if it was more than the few days long we would have went again! We’re looking forward to the pumpkin menu coming soon!! Every meal is a guarantee night to remember."
