"A winter wonderland to be had by all. Hiking, skiing or snowmobiling makes an amazing trip."
"This is a great trail with many options for whatever you are looking for. Old growth forests, huge rock/boulder formations, waterways, etc. are throughout the trail system. There are some decent grades/hills, and the paths are dirt/rocks/roots, so you have to pay attention. Huge trees await on the ancient forest trail, so take time to stop and appreciate them. Overall, it's easy to get to, ample parking, restroom available, picnic tables, CCC buildings to check out, and the trails are well maintained. I go during the week when there are fewer people, but the weekends aren't overcrowded or too busy. Depending on how much you stop to check things out, it will take a couple of hours to walk the trails down and back. Enjoy!"
"A little gem just 2 hours from home. I went with my kids 6 years ago and had such a great time I knew I'd be back. The office building is brand new and looking great compared to the run-down old rustic office, but I also love that look too! Another great time starting the day with a 4 mile canoe ride down the Clairion River. Going up the fire tower was quite the experience, and while it's steep and a bit rickety lol, there are hand rails. So many things to do in the forest."
"Absolutely loved it! A majority of the trails are clearly marked, and they have the first hiking trail for handicapped individuals. Which is so wonderful and inclusive. The staff at the park office are very helpful and were able to give us all the information we needed very clearly. A must hike area for anyone who enjoys the outdoors."
"The old growth sections of the park are beautiful. Many of the trails are kept in good condition and offer ample opportunities to explore the park and area. Park office is updated and theres great staff there always. Theres some of the best camping spots on and outside the park grounds. One of the best state parks in PA."
