Reviews
"My review policy lately has been making two visits to newly found spots before reviewing, but I am breaking the policy for Bansari Indian Cuisine. On a fairly long dry spell of hitting mediocre to downright bad new finds, I unexpectedly happened upon BIC located on the busy Gallows Road southbound lane in Vienna, near the Lee Highway intersection last Saturday early in the evening. BIC's recipes lit up my taste buds. All that I ordered was sensational, beginning with Samosas, spicy chickpeas, and papadams with chutneys. The spicy chickpeas were especially outstanding, bursting with flavor and heat. Ingredients in all dishes were fresh and expertly prepared with obvious attention and care. The Samosas were terrific and served piping hot. Asked what spicy heat level I wanted for the Paneer Tikka Masala, I said “Thai hot.” The bartender, serving me while I was seated at the bar, smiled, and it was delivered. Naan and Basmati rice accompanied the paneer tikka masala. I love small-batch cooking of fresh ingredients. Rice pudding with saffron and generous amount of slivered almonds for dessert. The restaurant is small and brightly lit. The dining area has a red brick wall the length of the dining room. The bartender said BIC's capacity is 60, and the bar has 7 barstools. In addition to the bartender, there were six servers on the floor and a busboy. All of the staff were friendly and engaging. Reasonably priced, delicious food, warm ambiance, and excellent service are the formula for creating regular customers. One last thing setting BIC apart and above, there are no televisions in the restaurant, not even at the bar."
"We went on a weekend night, so had to wait about 30-45 minutes to be seated, but we have no regrets. There’s a reason the line is out the door and why people are willing to wait to eat here. The food is flavorful and delicious. The portions are ideal for big groups and even couples, if you are keen on eating leftovers. My partner and I enjoyed are meal and can’t wait to be back soon. The chicken biryani is a personal favorite. My partner really liked the sago batata puri we got as an appetizer."
"The absolute best dining out experience I have had in years. The food is out of this world with flavor and the staff is attentive and exceptional. I cannot believe a restaurant like this even exists, this place is perfect in every way. Don't be intimidated by the menu, the food is artfully prepared and I would be shocked if you disliked anything."
"My first time trying American Indian cuisine. This is so fire. Literally. Definitely comfort my spicy Chinese stomach. If you like spicy food. Try it out Indian China noodle. Sooo good"
