Reviews of Kooser State Park
"Small State Park, but it has a nice trail around the lake and a little wooded island with paths that are nice. There are also trails up through the woods behind the lake, but I haven't been on those."
"Small campground with a nice stream running along the road. 4 stars since the campground is pretty noise due to the heavy truck traffic near the stream. Still a great spot to walk through the wooded path just past the playground/tent area"
"Small but beautiful, relaxing state park to spend part of a day (or longer). We stopped on the way back from visiting family near Pittsburgh to enjoy some time in the cool, refreshing mountain air with our twin toddlers. They really enjoyed their time there. Our daughter had a bad cold, but really perked up during our time at this park. Nice lake plus lakeside picnic areas and nearby restrooms, all close to the parking area."
"It might be the smallest of all Pennsylvania state parks. The park is roughly three areas. Lake area, cabin/camping area, and hill area. The lake is quite small and visually delightful. A small beach with two signature stones attracts one eye constantly. The hilly part has a strenuous hiking trail. The cabin and camping area seemed to be clean. But the noise from the nearby highway constantly keeps invading ones ears and keeps breaking the areas quietness."
"As a campground owner I have been warned time and time again not to stay in a state park for plenty of reasons. But I must say this has been one of the best stays on our two week trip. I wanted to just try a state park and I was not disappointed. We only stayed one night as we were just passing through, but we will definitely be back. Dated but super clean bathrooms with the best water pressure and heat so far on our trip."
