"My wife has used this salon for several months and has been very pleased! She has had highlights & styling several times. The result was excellent. The stylist was professional and attentive, the salon clean and well managed. She has taken both of daughters who have also been very pleased. You will enjoy your experience!"
"These are some of the best hair stylists our brides and friends have ever worked with. Love this shop!!!"
"One of the worst place ever to go! These people will rob your money. They ruined my wife’s hair. All she asked for highlights and hair cut. Instead of blonde highlights they did green! Yes green and when we asked many a times to fix it, they even ruined them. They also refused to refund the money since they did not do the right job. Please do not visit them. The Groupon deal is scam and they are rode, unprofessional and thugs. DO NOT WASTE YOUR Time & MONEY"
"I'll start with the positive...my stylist was friendly and competent. She gave me a trim, just as requested. Unfortunately, that is not enough to have me back. When I arrived, the shampoo lady made some sort of noise to alert my stylist that my hair was long (FYI, it's just about 2 inches past my shoulders...hardly anything to write home about) - holding it up above my head, tugging on it until she got her attention. After having it shampooed and conditioned, I was brought over to the chair where the stylist asked what I wanted. I stated I just wanted a trim, as I was keeping as much length as possible. While she was nice, I can't tell you how many comments she made about the length of my hair. She did complement me on how pretty it was, but the endless comments of how long and think it was made me quite uncomfortable. I felt like I was totally inconveniencing her for doing her job that I'm paying for. She also seemed to really want to rush through the flat ironing portion, and I had to ask her to go over a few spots because they were far from dry, much less straight. I think I could have gotten over this, despite feeling uncomfortable, but the other factors I'm about to share certainly have left a bad taste in my mouth. While there, another stylist (I can hardly call him a gentleman) from a different shop was there talking horribly about another person he worked with. All the stylists at Art of Hair were chiming in on how they'd never sit in his chair, they'd "run out the damn door", etc. I'm not sure which employee said it, but the phrase "CROTCH HEAD" came out a few times. Now I am decades younger than any of these employees and I found this to be so crass, rude and unacceptable. They didn't seem to be bothered by this. Fast forward to when I was checking out - the quite unpleasant Asian lady informed me that I owed $15 (I had used a Living Social coupon). I asked for what and she told me the length of my hair. I informed her that when I made the appt, the person asked how long my hair was, I told them and nothing was said about an extra charge. She sardonically told me that the fine print on my coupon reads there will be a charge. I told her it actually didn't say that, it said there "may be an additional charge" and that when I made the appt, nothing was said. That's not something you just throw out at a customer as they're walking out - ESPECIALLY because I gave her my LS coupon before I was even taken back. That would have been a more appropriate time to tell me. As the shop only takes cash and checks, I was therefore unable to tip my stylist and shampoo girl but $5 b/c I only had a $20. I got quite agitated and said I only had a $20 because I wasn't informed after being transparent about the length of my hair when I made the appt. The Asian lady had the audacity to roll her eyes at me, so I gave her the $20, walking out and said to her, "you really should inform customers of this before taking them back." She then mumbled, "you really should be smart and read the fine print." Yes, you read that right. I flung the door open again and said, "excuse me?" She lied and said she mumbled "have a nice day." I called her out and said you certainly did not say that and told her she should never, ever treat a customer like that. Especially a customer who didn't have a clue there would be a charge because of the lack of professionalism received. I am just baffled that I had to be made to feel uncomfortable and rushed by a stylist, and then to be so rudely treated by the lady at the front. I will certainly not be returning and won't hesitate to spread the word. What a disappointment."
