"The most overpriced and horrific experience I've ever had. $200 for a sloppy cut and huge missing spots of color. The hair stylist there was "off" to put it lightly. If i wasn't on such a strict time budget it would have just walked out."
"Response to the owner: she absolutely did try to charge me for the 2nd haircut to fix it. Stylist: “I’m just going to charge you for a 30 minute haircut, is that ok?” Me: “I mean, not really!” “Oh ok, I’ll put it in as a free consultation instead then.” Yes, I did tip her. I am grateful that she made it even. I’m out of space that Google will allow, so I guess I’ll leave it there. — This is the worst haircut I have ever gotten. My stylist (Zahraa/SaraA, this is how she is listed) had absolutely no idea what she was doing. She cut my hair holding it flipped out, blunt cut straight across, so it does not lay nice at all. She told me I was too tall even though the chair was all the way down, so she made me slouch down (not great!) & stood on her tippy toes to cut at weird angles. For reference, I am indeed tall, but other stylists elsewhere have managed, and also I was getting my hair cut above my shoulders, so I feel like she will run into the same issue on shorter people getting longer cuts. It seemed like she didn’t know how to deal with the fact that my shoulders kept getting in the way of where she wanted to cut, & she had trouble coordinating how to hold my hair & her scissors at the same time. By the end of my cut, I knew that it was just not going to be what I wanted & I did not want her to keep cutting at my hair trying to fix it, so I just said it was fine & fled. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized just how awful it was. The right side of my hair was at least 2 inches longer than the left. And not in a gradual way. It just had a sudden drop where the front quarter of my right side is 2 inches longer than the rest of my hair. All of the ends were extremely choppy and uneven. Random chunks would be noticeably longer than the others. I have never before complained about a haircut, but this was awful. The manager called me back to apologize immediately, and she was very understanding, which I do appreciate. But she told me that my stylist had a lot of experience and had never gotten a bad review before. 1. I could tell by her technique that she had no experience, & another stylist confirmed that she was pretty new to haircuts. 2. The stylist herself told me that she made someone cry (please don’t ask why I didn’t stop the hair cut right there, hindsight is 20/20). Don’t lie to me when trying to smooth things over! She offered a few solutions, one of which was to let another stylist fix it the next day, so that’s what I did. That stylist was apparently the only stylist working the next day and had 15 minutes between clients to fix my hair, which I was not told when being offered the solutions. That stylist did indeed make my hair the same length on both sides & she seemed much more knowledgeable, but at the same time, all she did was make my hair even. This is the bare minimum. She did not actually make it the style that I had hoped for, & she did not even touch the bangs. I am not naming her because it’s not her fault that she had to give up her time in between clients when she could be preparing or catching her breath to instead have to rush to fix someone else’s mistake, but I think it speaks to the quality of the studio as a whole. She also almost charged me for a 30 minute haircut, until I just stared at her. I paid for my haircut the day before. Sorry! (I still tipped her, I’m just not paying for two hair cuts). At the end of the day, I ended up paying $82 for a haircut that the best that can be said about it is “it no longer looks like someone took a hacksaw to it”. Comments from friends & family, in case anyone thinks I am exaggerating: Best friend: “oh my goodness!!! I was hoping it wasn’t that bad, but WOW.” Sister: “it looks like the haircuts we used to give our Barbie’s when we were 5…” Other sister: “NOW will you let me cut your hair? I can’t possibly be worse, & even if it is, at least it would be free.” Sister’s bf: “I don’t want to comment [on what I think of it] because I don’t want to hurt your feelings.” In conclusion, I am still looking for a hair salon in Baltimore."
"My co-workers recommended Studio 7 and I couldn't be more pleased with the service. The salon is clean, bright, and welcoming. Roz, the owner, did my shampoo and cut and explained everything she was doing in detail while giving me great hair care advice. My hair looks and feels so much healthier! Already have another appointment booked."
"I never leave reviews but couldnt wait to shout off the rooftops for Roz!! I left her salon crying happy tears. After years of hating my hair and never liking any color job I have ever had done, she nailed it spot on. She is above and beyond a true professional and such a pleasure to chat with. She kept me informed the whole time, step by step, and gave great advice for maintaining my hair. I will never go anywhere else!! Thank you so much Roz!!! I truly mean it!! You're the best!"
"Had an amazing appointment with Shamera today. She thoroughly explained how my hair my be damaged with what I came in for, and offered up better suggestions for my hair's current state. It immediately made me trust her because it felt like her priority was about me and my hair. She really took care of my hair and made sure I was happy throughout. I will be going back to her as my hair grows out. I'm so happy to have found a salon here in Baltimore!"
