Reviews of Butler-Freeport Community Trail
"Amazing trail pretty close to the city, really peaceful and scenic. You really feel like you’re in nature at parts. Starts as a path along a creek and eventually turns into farm country. The trail is hard pack dirt/gravel. Great for running and biking. Grab a snack at oakmont bakery on the way there!"
"I wasnt sure what to expect on this route. I walked a few miles on foot. Most all other people were on bikes. I think this is a great bike trail! I personally prefer hikes that go up and down hill. This was completely flat which i should have realized prior. That doesnt make it bad, just different than what Im used to. Its still a really nice scenic walk regardless. The creek runs right along the trail and it was pretty quiet. There is parking thats right next to someones house and my gps struggled a bit to find the parking. Parking is in a residential neighborhood. I thought it was really cool walking up to the massive bridge. Theres a few things that make it worth the walk. Ill be back there this summer."
"This trail is 20 miles long, I am walking it 2 miles at a time. Very amusing, how different the trail is in the different sections."
"A little tricky finding the parking area and trail head. A small portion was paved, but it's mostly a fine gravel surface with a few areas of wash out. The short paved section is great for little kids, with mowed grass along trail edges. The gravel section has tall vegetation along the edges and a steep bank to the river with little protection to keep kids from steering over the edge. Not likely to visit again, but seems popular with grown ups."
"good clean safe flat trail. very scenic and good for new cyclists. bring your own food and water, didn't notice any nearby stores to refuel. plan on biking the whole 25 miles to Butler or use thimble markers to navigate how far you bike in any direction then turn around to do just an out and back."
