Reviews of Bricks American Steakhouse
"Tasteless food. First off neither the chicken nor the pork chop had any seasoning. Not even salt or pepper. The pork was so burned on the outside the fat was separating from the meat and the inside was still raw. The server did see this and took it off the bill but for $32 the quality should have been there. The Mac n cheese was tasteless and the cheese sauce I’m not sure was even real cheese it had a strange flavor. The chicken bruschetta was also disappointing and tasteless. The asparagus was burnt to a crisp, but not edible. The chicken again had no seasoning and was just charred on the grill so you could taste the char. The bruschetta that they placed on top you could tell was not even cooked as the skin of the tomatoes were not even wrinkled they were extremely cold. The entire plate of pasta was cold and tasteless. No garlic, no parsley nothing. Overall the dishes were extremely bland and unsatisfying. The alcohol menu is also extremely limited and overpriced. I could go to a Hilton hotel and have a mint julep for half the price I was charged. We were told that there are two owners and the one owner who is normally the chef is no longer there, so maybe that is the problem and if that continues I don’t see this business lasting I will say the waitress and hostess were remarkable, friendly, polite, etc. and the ambience was great but none of that makes up for the quality of food and the price you pay for it. We went to another establishment for dinner as we left our food untouched."
"The atmosphere was great, high ceilings, large windows and still warm on a cool October evening. The seafood dip was awesome, plenty of large pieces of, shrimp, and scallops.. and very hot! The pita chips were a little greasy and the oil might need changed but still good. Our steaks were cooked to order, very good but again the fingerling potatoes were good, and crispy texture, but in the same oil, almost tasted like doughnuts. The server was very nice and had a sense of humor and checked on us and offered to go boxes and refills before bringing our check."
"Loved decor and the server was extremely friendly. Appetizer was the bruschetta and loved! I ordered the 40oz bone in ribeye and felt like it was cooked great, but flavor profile was not there. I can appreciate wanting the steak quality be front and center, but it missed a lot on seasoning. Giving the place 3 stars as I don't see myself really needing to come back and not a place I can really tell people they must give it a try at least once."
"Prior to my trip to Erie I had seen an article about the opening of this place so I was excited to check it out, despite not having the best rating on Google at that time (it's since improved deservedly). I have to say I am SO happy we went! We had such a great experience from beginning to end! Our server, Shay, was awesome, helpful and attentive which added to our experience. The restaurant is located in downtown Erie, a part of the city that I'm thrilled to see finally being revitalized! The building itself is a historic cashier's house that is almost 200 years old! The space is really cool with unique historic charm! The two of us tried:Basil Burrata Bruschetta, Cashier's House Salad with Scallops Added, Ribeye Steak, Double Fried Au Gratin Potatoes, Roasted Asparagus, and two signature cocktails (Money Vault Mojito and Cashier's Cosmo) from their Altered State Distillery collaboration! All of this was only $100! Honestly everything we ordered exceeded our expectations! I was blown away by both the cost and the quality! The prices were very reasonable for an outstanding dinner! Anywhere outside of Erie & our bill would have easily been double! Do yourself a favor and check it out! I love seeing city progress and cool places popping up in my hometown! I love places that try & always hope to see small businesses succeed!"
"Incredible food! Flavorful and cooked perfectly. Jessica is one amazing server. Their twist on the classic Bruschetta is bold and refreshing. The Spinach Asiago stuffed Chicken and Alfredo is one of the best meals I’ve had in Erie to date. I can’t speak for the steak but he absolutely loved it. The decor and atmosphere is very elegant and upscale. I highly recommend this restaurant if you haven’t already visited."
