Reviews of Hair Cuttery
"I recently visited your salon on Jan 20,2024 based on a recommendation from my mother. I was looking forward to a positive experience, but unfortunately, I encountered several issues during my visit. I received a hair treatment from a stylist named Sherry, during which Olaplex No.1 was applied to my scalp and hair. Regrettably, I experienced a burning sensation on my scalp, which I found discomforting. When I tried to communicate this concern to Sherry, her response was dismissive, indicating that this was standard procedure and that I should have been aware of it since my mother had visited your salon before. Throughout the treatment, I felt ignored as Sherry did not engage in any conversation with me nor did she check the water temperature to ensure my comfort. The manner in which my hair was handled left me feeling quite uncomfortable. What disappointed me even more was that Sherry did not offer an apology for my discomfort. I believe that a salon should provide not only quality treatments but also a comfortable and respectful environment for its clients. My experience fell short of these expectations. I kindly request that you address this matter and take the necessary steps to ensure that clients receive the level of service and professionalism they deserve. I hope that my feedback can contribute to improvements in the future. Thank you for your attention to this issue."
"I came in for a trim and the "stylist" I was first paired with did not listen to me at all. I told her I wanted long layers and I ended up with a choppy, uneven cut. I told her that was not how I wanted it and her attempt to fix it took another inch off, and made it slightly less choppy at best. I paid and left, and another stylist followed me out as she saw how unhappy I was with the cut. She asked what happened and if I could let her fix it for me. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she delivered! She took her time styling my hair and making sure my long layers were even, taking off the least amount of hair she could to fix it. A big thank you to Macky for caring and making sure I left loving my haircut!"
"I would give this place 0/5 stars if I could! This establishment is very unprofessional and racist. If they cannot wash and style 4A-4C hair then they need to make that clear to their customers BEFORE they come in. And if a customer with 4A-4C hair comes in and they cannot do it, there’s was no need to be rude and say “I can’t do this type of hair, this hair is too much for me.” As a black women, this is not okay. We are always judged and discriminated against because of our hair. All was needed was a simple blow out and the stylist make a black woman feel small and self conscious in front of everyone at the salon. I suggest that these stylist learn to do all types of hair and not just one. A black women or anyone with course hair should be able to enter hair cuttery with no problem! They should also look to hire more black stylist as well."
"I had a horrible experience at this location. Regardless of stories I've heard in the past about Hair cuttery I decided to give them a try. I called ahead to ask if they had someone that could do ethnic hair and she said they did. When I arrived the stylist approached me and asked if I could take out my hair. She began to feel my hair and said "oh I can't do your kind of hair let me see if I can find someone" that alone almost made we walk out, however, I stayed being as though I really needed my hair done. She then said okay I will wash your hair. As I'm sitting in the chair she continues to say "yeah I can't do your texture hair etc." Remind you the woman on the phone said they had someone available which was obviously not the case. Finally she finds someone who is familiar with my hair. After the wash I sit down in the stylist chair and I'm explaining what I would like done. Instantly this couple walks in the salon. She walks over to greet them then comes back to me and says "I'm so sorry I have two other clients." I'm confused by this because she just said she could do my hair ? At this point I tell them not worry about it and I leave the salon with wet hair. I hate the way this salon made me feel about my hair. I have never had any issues with any other salon in regard to my hair. My hair is actually extremely easy to do any experienced stylist should not have an issue. It felt like they didn't want to deal with it and just made any excuse to get me to leave. They obviously only cater to a certain kind of texture and that is ridiculous! If you're a hair dresser you should know how to do all hair types. I shouldn't be made to feel less because my hair is of thicker texture. This was a complete waste of time and now I'm forced to do my own hair. Do not waste your time coming here!"
"I really love my haircut. My hair is very coarse and not a lot of people take the time to cut my layers the way that I like so that it doesn’t feel so bulky in the back. I’m definitely coming back! My hairstylist also recommended a hair treatment that helped my hair not feel so dull. It’s great to get advice from someone who cares and knows what to do with my hair needs."
