Shipley Park Playground

"This is a really nice well maintained park. The playground is a good size and has a rubber ground instead of wood chips like the county parks. I like that they have a fenced in area for dogs. It's a shame these smelly dog owners won't actually utilize it though. Multiple times I've seen dogs run around unleashed over by the batting cages and by the playground. I guess their precious beasts are too good to be fenced in."

"We had a lovely time at this popular park. The playground had separate big kid and little kid equipment which was nice. There was a covered pavilion with picnic benches co-located. There was also a nice walking path with plenty of foot traffic on a spring day. At the far end of the parking lot there are port-a-potties (near the flag pole). On the other end of the parking lot you can catch a baseball game through the fence if you’re lucky. *we passed the entrance accidentally. Turn in by the water tower"

"The playground itself is nice. All the usual playground equipment. There is a large pavilion adjacent to the playground that can be reserved through Recs and Parks. Add in the paved path that encircles the park, and you have a great place to take your kids. On the bummer side, there are no grills. Bring your own is allowed. And no alcohol. If you can't go a few hours without, you might have a problem. Just saying."

"This park has most everything you could need to have a great time outside. Ample parking, well lit at night, generous pathways, a large fenced in dog park, playground for the small ones, even porta potties. Many deer can be seen here early and late in the day. Bring a basket of food and some blankets to relax on. Fun times for all."

"Super impressed with this playground! I'm new to the area so the playground was hard to find at first (maps directed me to the parking lot of the hotel!) but this is easily my FAVORITE. It's never crowded, the equipment is brand new, the foam mulch floor is genius, and the ramada right next to the playground is such a great addition for parents who might not want to sit directly in the sun while watching their kids!"
