"It's absolutely an amazing hidden gem. Everything my family gets has been amazing. I go here now in place of all the Mexican spots in Stafford. It's small and quaint. I've been in Stafford twenty years, and everything that tried to launch from that building has failed, but not El Viejon. The staff are super nice and friendly and they already have a huge following. This is the go-to for my family, and last thing their margaritas are fantastic"

"I have eaten a lot of real Mexican food so I wasn't expecting anything mind boggling this far north. But hear me out. There is only one thing that matters on this menu. They have a burrito that has three different kinds of meat in it and is smothered in cheese. Now don't get me wrong... This burrito is NOT good for your physical body. But the pure happiness and joy that it will bring to your soul makes every delicious bite worth it. It was amazing and I would go back in a heartbeat if I wasn't still full from the first one."

"Since my wife and I have moved to Fredericksburg Virginia, we've been trying to visit new restaurants and breweries in the area. Some are good, some not so much. I can honestly say that El Viejon Mexican Grill is wonderful. Inside is very fun and colorful, a restaurant you'll like walking in to. We started with cocktails. My wife had a Watermelon Margarita and I had a Pina Colada. Both drinks were tasty. For dinner my wife had the Alhambre Bowl, which is chicken, shrimp, chorizo and bacon with onions, peppers, squash, tomatoes, rice and cheese. She loved it. I know she loves her dinner when she just eats and doesn't speak. That was the case here. I had Quesadilla Verecruz, which was a quesadilla with shrimp and scallops. It was full of seafood, not just a couple of shrimp with lots of Pico and guacamole. The service was great. Our server was very friendly, but also knowledgeable about not only the menu but the cocktails. She asked what my wife liked, then suggested the Watermelon Margarita. Since we live nearby we will be regular visitors to El Viejon."

"Visited 7/8/23 Julio was our server & Brianna was the hostess both were great! I choose the 3 combo meal. Two beef tacos & beef burrito. The tacos got soggy to quick. I had to request a taco shell to finish my meal. The salsa is bland. Watery w/ six veggies in a bowl. At least the salsa & chips are unlimited. All the meals were tasty. The building was too hot for me. You couldn't feel the air conditioner."
