"Walked in and everyone ignored me. Young lady that seated people was sitting at a table playing on her phone. She made eye contact with me a few times and just kept doing whatever she was doing. Finally after about 5 mins she came and asked what I wanted…. I said to order food. She took me to a table and left. About 10 mins later a young man came and brought me water. He took my order and the food came out at a decent time. That was the last I saw my server besides giving me a check. The restaurant was slow, so not like he was running around helping. He was sitting with the young lady on the phone. Eggs Benedict was dry and made me sick shortly after. This place has so much potential if the workers actually tried just a little and had some pride in what they do. I feel sorry for the owners."
"Went in to get dinner and the hostess talked so quiet I couldn’t hear her. The server Kayla was extremely slow and didn’t write anything down. Came back twice and asked about the order. Sat for 10 minutes with an empty drink waiting on food. Food took 25 minutes to get and there was only 2 other tables in the restaurant and one of the tables were already eating when we came in."
"Service was ok, but the food left a lot to be desired. Had to send food back was pot roast that was hard shredded pieces no veggies in it had green beans on the side that were almost raw . I ordered a berry salad to go got home had maybe 1 cup lettuce a little dry chicken and a couple slices of onion, took leftover country steak home was not bad but had very little gravy when I asked for more I was given maybe a spoonfull and I asked for gravy to go for my leftover steak got home it was sausage gravy. Call spoke to employee she said the manager would call me and never heard from them."
"My family and I have come here many times and we continue coming because King George doesn’t have a lot of options and because my stepdad is set in his ways. However, the food/service is consistently awful. On more than one occasion they have served black broccoli. It turns black when it’s going bad and where it has been cut. If they had good work ethic or common sense they would either throw it out and not serve it or try to make it look better by removing the black areas. On my most recent visit, I ordered some pumpkin pancakes and 3 out of 4 of them were completely burnt on one side. Maybe the cook enjoys burnt food but I prefer to enjoy the taste of my food the way it should and not burnt. I get it that you may be short staffed and people make mistakes but common sense says when you realize you overcook it, you make it over. It just seems like there’s no good work ethic or perhaps poor management and training. This place could do better but they consistently mess up at least one thing if not multiple things every time we go. I certainly don’t recommend this place to people and it’s not my first choice when choosing where to dine."
"So me and my buddy stopped in here to have a bite to eat. I have to say all IHOP are not the same. I've been to a few IHOPs in Brooklyn New York and they never offered me a choice of syrup they just brought the maple syrup and place it on the table. This place offered me warm maple syrup they also told me that they had sugar-free syrup. I had no idea so I chose to sugar-free syrup had I known this was available to IHOP I certainly would have asked for a long time ago and saved myself the calories and the sugar. I had the spinach and mushroom omelette which was absolutely delicious. The Omelette actually came out to the table hot unlike when I have it in Brooklyn. My buddies the sampler however the hash browns were cold so without a problem I'll waitress took the plate back in brought out another plate within only a few minutes and everything on the plate was hot and tasty. We had no complaints whatsoever. I've never sat down at IHOP in Brooklyn and the pancakes were hot enough to melt the butter that they put on top when I got my plate the butter had already melted at least halfway. This is what I call serving it up fresh and hot. If I am ever in the area again I know where to go if I'm feeling for a nice hot meal. Thank you for a job well done IHOP of King George Virginia."
