"We have been coming to Luxor for 5 years. We have always had a great experience the staff is very friendly take their time. Clean salon great experience my nails always look great! My granddaughter EmmaLynn loves coming here."
"I went in for a pedicure and manicure with french tip. I arrived around 10am so I was the only one there. The place seemed clean and the people were nice. Here’s why I only gave it two stars: When the woman finished my pedicure, she dipped the blue pumice stone she used on me into the water my feet were in to ‘clean it,’ shook it, and put it back in the drawer to be used on the next person. reusing foot files and tools puts clients at risk for fungal infections and is, frankly, just gross. I asked for an acrylic overlay on my natural nails and a French tip. When she started using the drill to buff my natural nails, I asked her to use a file, she said no, that the drill was better. I explained that I wanted to reduce damage to my natural nails and she said it was fine and continued. Then, she went to lay the acrylic and I asked if she would trim my cuticles. She said my cuticles were fine and laid the acrylic without touching them. Partway through doing my nails, her next clients walked in and she started rushing. The French tip wasn’t going well and she made it obvious that she was ready to move on, so I said I would just take clear polish and go. She rushed through a clear coat, while going back and fourth between me and the next client in the pedicure chair. Then, when she told me the price, she included an extra $5, maybe a tip? The photos are of my nails just 5 days later: the white on the toes is poorly done and already cracking. The cuticles were never trimmed and the acrylic has an ugly border where it meets the cuticle on every nail because of the way she applied it. Worse, multiple nails are lifting where the acrylic overlapped the cuticle. I’ve been looking for a reliable nail tech so I’ve been there twice. Both times, I had less-than-average results."
"Stopped in to have a natural fingernail repaired. I split it almost 1/2 way up my nail bed, ouch! At first, the nail tech just put nail glue on it ! I said I could have done that myself! I asked her to use acrylic powder, which she did, but I need to find someone who knows how to work with natural nails!!"
"In the last year the service here has really gone down. $40 in and out in 15 mins -- less than mediocre job at best. Have had 3 pedicures here in the last 6 months (incld this morning), each time w/a different tech and all three experiences were bad. I do not recommend."
"Called in on a Sunday morning for 2 pedicures and they said they could accommodate us both at the same time. I said great. As we walk in. I only see 1 lady working and then someone comes from the back and I am seated. There was only 1 other technician. Had I known I would not have come. I did specifically say at the same time. She did not say anything and I had assumed that someone would come out for my friend. It becomes evident after about 15 minutes that no one else is coming and it's awkward to leave in the middle of the pedicure while both of our feet are being soaked. Huge red flag. Cleanliness. I noticed the sterilization bags were not sealed and the instruments were simply put back into the same bag and put in her drawer at the end of the appt. I do not know if they were even sanitized. She reused the pumice stone without properly cleaning it. The scrub they use to exfoliate your skin smelled a few years out of date. You know that smell that smells like it's been left out all day and you forgot about it in the backseat of your car for months. Also absolutely no hint of citrus at all. I felt very rushed and I would never go back again."
