"I love urban halo! Andrea is amazing - she’s an expert in blonde. I constantly get compliments on my hair. My only other feedback is, bring back the wine please! :)"
"I have been seeing Nash, the owner of Urban Halo, for about 10 years now. He is a wonderful human. He always does a great job and makes me feel and look great. I always get compliments on my hair when I leave his salon and always want to go out the night of my hair appointment. Do yourself a favor, book yourself an appointment with him and then get a sitter, or make a date with friends or your special someone."
"Genius. Nash and Romina were able to brilliantly color correct a home job I botched and gave me exactly what I asked for - a rich brown color with beautiful soft highlights. They really listen, then transform. Amazing work."
"Edited to add a photo of the chunky “partial balayage” I received. This is after toning my hair with purple shampoo at least 5 times to cut down on the yellow. I had a cut and partial balayage with Andre a few days ago, and I will not be coming back to this salon. Overall I was rushed and not listened to, and as a result the cut was dramatically wrong and the balayage was also off the mark. My appointment only took 1 hour 30 mins, which was shocking - this would normally take 2.5 to 3 hours total in my experience at other salons. The cut and drying itself only took 20 minutes at most, and I'm used to a hair cut appointment taking a full hour. I tried to explain what I wanted in the beginning, but I was rushed and Andre completely misunderstood what I was asking for despite assuring me he understood. I went in for a blended, neutral toned balayage (I showed a photo of a previous balayage I had gotten elsewhere) and a blunt bob that is just slightly shorter in the back. My hair is straight and thin, and I am naturally already dark blonde - I went in with virgin hair. It should have been fairly easy to cut and slightly lighten. The haircut was the worst part. Andre took out weight that I did not ask for and have never had another stylist even suggest, given that my hair is very thin. I was not offered a mirror to see the back, so I assumed the angle was correct when I left the salon. When I got home I saw that the cut was dramatically shorter in the back than in the front - it was a dated "Karen" look, and poor judgement to assume that a 24 year old would want this. I immediately called, and they had me come back for Andre to fix the angle (while another client's highlights sat in). Andre took 10 minutes at most and worked on my dry hair. With my guidance along the way he got the overall shape improved by shortening the front. I've noticed with more time now that the cut is still not quite right - it is a bit jagged on the sides and doesn't smoothly change length from back from front. Regarding the balayage, Andre cut another client's hair while the bleach processed. A washer took me to the sink to rinse out the bleach without Andre ever taking a look at how my hair was lightening. I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt in the salon lighting, but my balayage turned out yellower and lighter than the photo I showed, and more chunky and harsh on the roots than what I wanted. I've since toned my hair at home to make the color more neutral, but it is still lighter and less blended than what I asked for. I don't think my expectations were unrealistic since I've had other stylists get it right in the past with a partial balayage, and for less money. Overall I don't think I could return to this salon even for another stylist because the experience was so poor. I'm shocked by the good reviews. I'm giving 2 stars because Andre did fix the angle of my hair."
"Went for my first time for a balayage with Andrea. I showed her a picture of what I wanted & asked for a slightly lighter color. She ended up recommending & doing a full foil. So pleased with the way my hair turned out, literally everything I wanted it to be! I had a harsh line in my hair from previous hair stylist & box dye that she got rid of and blended perfectly! Wish I would’ve taken a before picture to show the magic she worked. Reasonable prices & a nice environment. Already booked my next appointment."
