The Braiding Palace

"The braiders here were all very nice and seemed pleasant. Nonetheless, she was an hour late starting my appointment which I don’t know that this is the norm. (It was a snowy day). It took her 3.5 hours to complete my hair and it would have taken longer if I didn’t have somewhere else to be. After observing the shop and the other clients, this is obviously a braiding shop (beautiful braids btw) but I do not suggest getting your locs maintenance here. I felt overcharged for the work especially since I had to wash and retwist it again the next day. I don’t believe she knew how to handle my 4b hair type either. She caked my hair with gel in order to try to keep my retwist intact. They did suggest that I get my hair interlocked instead of retwisted, but I would definitely want to go to an actual loctician/natural hair expert to get that service if I did decide to change the method of my loc maintenance. I will say, her parting helped me retwist my hair properly. The back is always hard to do for me. The overall experience and quality pushed me to cancel my daughter’s loc maintenance appointment with them (I didn’t even care about the deposit) and is the reason for the 3 stars. I was hoping this would be a wonderful experience since this shop is so close to my home but I’ll try somewhere else. I do appreciate her effort."

"This is my new braiding shop hands down. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. They took care of me the whole time and made sure I was comfortable and liked the style from the beginning. They are very fast and won’t have you waiting all day. Definitely will be going back !!!!!"

"The braiding ladies are so sweet and attentive. You can expect to have 2 people braiding which will reduce the length of time it takes. I did small-medium box braids butt length and it took 4.5 hours. They also take walk ins! Braids here generally costs $250-$450. They also wash your hair for $25. Braids were neat!"

"This is a good place to get your hair braided. They are a little on the pricy side but they do an amazing job on your hair. I got my hair in passion twists months ago. I had two woman working on my hair at the time. They was done with my hair within 3hrs. I think her name was Ester and Alexis. I brought my own hair but they wanted to use their hair for the style I wanted. The owner claimed that my style wouldn't hold up right. I've brought crochet hair before from Amazon and was able to have the braided unravel the hair and twist it back into my hair with no problems. I just think that they wanted to sell that hair they had in stock since it was the exact dame color. The only problem I had was it made my scalp itch tremendously in a day. One of my twists came out on the edge of my hair near my ear. I didn't go back because they might charge just to do that one twist over. I would suggest to bring your own hair if you have sensitive scalp like myself. The price was 220 for passion twist there. The hair was $13 a pack. 2 packs was used on my hair."
