"Was recommended to call them to insure a 90's landcruiser as an occasional use collectible, and in the initial call was quoted a rate, took all my info etc, and then emailed a packet of forms to sign and fill out, as well as send in payment which I did via check. Then a few days later received an email (they couldn't even bother to call me!) saying that underwriting declined to approve my coverage because it doesn't qualify as 'classic car' So why did someone not figure that out before I went to all the trouble I did, as well as wasting several days waiting for proof of insurance? Called Haggerty today and had an approved policy in one phone call. Don't waste your time with Grunby if your needs are similar."

"Classic car coverage. Horrid experience. Worst insurance I've ever dealt with. Application for collector's insurance was stuck with the underwriters so long, I finally gave up. Twice I was asked to send in additional supporting documents despite having complied with all requested docs at the initial contact. Impossible to get an update by phone because it seems the right hand has no clue what the left hand is doing. Further, the company requires an affidavit stating the classic car will only be used for exhibition. Errands are NOT allowed. Occasional pleasure use (whatever that means) is allowed. Their lower premiums weren't worth the red tape and restrictive coverage, in my opinion."

"Grundy gave me an initial great rate on my classic corvette. But then when I made the required call to speak to a rep.... it all changed. My rate doubled because they said they don't insure corvettes for less then 10,000. Well I wanted to insure for what I bought it for 6000. When they upped my insured value ... the premium doubled. Of course it did, it's ridiculous that the rep says they don't insure for less than 10,000 when this car was insured through them by the previous owner for 7000. Sounds like the rep tried the bait and switch... well I didn't fall for it. I insured through Haggerty and absolutely love my policy and the price. Thanks for nothing Grundy, I hope new customers read this and stay far away from your bait and switch."
