Reviews of DC Corazon Fonda & Tequileria
"This experience echos many of the others given. Julie L was my waitress.. only in name only. The service was painfully slow even though there were only 2 tables, myself of 1 and a table of 3. There was no greeting, no recommendations, very transactional and she didn’t give AF. The margarita was possibly the best thing I had, but the bar was low. Tacos were not it and taste as though they were practicing. As far as water, I asked 4 times and once she finally brought it, it was meekly placed on the table. Not once did she ask how anything was or anything else. Oh, portion size..psh. I’m not saying it has to be huge, but it was very disappointing. Hard pass."
"From the moment I stepped into DC Corazon, I knew I was in for a treat. Nestled in the vibrant Petworth neighborhood, this Mexican restaurant is a true culinary gem. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between cozy and lively, making it an ideal spot for both romantic dinners and fun gatherings with friends. The menu, oh the menu! It's a delightful journey through authentic Mexican flavors. Each dish we tried was a masterpiece, bursting with freshness and authenticity. The tacos are a must-try – they're packed with flavor and the tortillas are clearly homemade. And don't get me started on the nachos. Talk. About. Yum. Service at DC Corazon is top-notch. Especially J.R. and Edgar. The staff are not only friendly but also passionate about their cuisine, eager to share recommendations and insights about the dishes. Their warm and welcoming attitude adds to the overall delightful experience. Music is hype and fits the energy perfectly. 10/10 would recommend, bruh!"
"Mixed outcomes on the food, friendly and attentive service, and colorful decor provide an ultimately positive experience here. I started with the adorably petite small portion of the queso fundido with chunks of chorizo, poblano peppers and mushrooms. It was delicious, probably the favorite part of my meal. I tried tres tacos and the shrimp with a creamy sauce was the highlight. The barbacoa was a little bland and benefited from the smoky orange salsa. The chicken mole was also a bit underwhelming, could have used more tender chicken and more mole. I also tried a guava margarita and it was well balanced, not too sweet. I say on the patio and while it has suffered a bit from the elements, it was a really nice experience overall. Pretty average for DC Mexican food, but there were enough highlights with the food to merit a potential return visit for brunch."
"We came here for a weekend lunch. There were only three other tables at that moment, but it took forever for the staff to take our order, serve dishes and process the checkout bill… and they even forgot to fulfill some of our requests. The food was a bit mediocre - the corn was not very delicious and didn’t worth the price at all ($7.5ish). The enchiladas mole verdes, guacamole and sopa birria were all just okay. The only highlight was churros - it’s pretty good, but one of the churro was undercooked in the middle. Overall, I might not consider coming back if they don’t improve the speed to take orders and serve dishes… It definitely has a pretty nice outdoor seating tho! (Follow me on IG ➡️ miss_dawang)"
"Friendly, efficient service with unique, delicious food. Absolutely the best margaritas I’ve ever had!! Classic margarita with the essence of fruit without being syrupy sweet. So good! We tried watermelon, strawberry & tamarind. All great! The Queso Fundido appetizer was delicious! The Burris quesadilla so good! The red mole very flavorful. Overall a very nice evening!!"
