"I don't know about all these other reviews, but I put in my 401k from an old job in here and it was relatively painless. I'm about 21 years from cashing it out though so I can't say whether Fidelity is slow to do this or that and that I've been taxed too much or lost this or that. I'm also not picky, but I can say the account has grown relatively robustly. I try not to look at the account and get obsessive since I'm 20 years out from when I have to make disbursements anyhow. They call annually to discuss how I want the account to be. I rather trust Fidelity than some local no name investment firm or shady Bernie Madoff type. Hopefully Fidelity is not a Madoff type firm..."

"We moved our accounts to Fidelity about ten years ago, in part because my spouse's company's retirement accounts were through Fidelity. Our experience with them has been excellent. We don't want to spend a lot of time managing our money, but we want to understand what the people who ARE managing it are doing. Working with our advisors, we've learned a lot, and our portfolio is doing well. But more importantly, we feel that we've been involved every step of the way. Our advisors (we've had three in the ten years) have all had the common traits of: 1. Listening to us; 2. Understanding our goals and our concerns; 3. Making sure that WE understand what is happening with our accounts. As we come closer to retirement, our advisor for the past several years, Jaron Reynolds, has been fantastic in listening to us and managing our exposure to risk, and managing multiple questions like how do we minimize our tax exposure? How much income do we need, and how do we set that up from the resources we have? How do we manage charitable giving? Working with him, we have developed a very specific budget into which we have factored a lot of variables, including worst case scenarios, so that we truly feel at ease with our retirement plan. As we were entering the office today (we're meeting about quarterly as retirement approaches), a couple was leaving and we overheard them say, "I feel so much better now. That makes so much sense." That's been our experience with Fidelity. And, to address some of the negative reviews, we have had ZERO problems with Fidelity processing any of our transactions. Often, we can do it right in the office. But if we can't do it in a meeting, we know it will get done in a timely and professional manner. There is a LOT of information on the Fidelity website, and it's easy to do a lot of financial planning with the tools available there. Based on our experience, we would recommend Fidelity without reservation."

"Went here simply to complete a form for purposes of conducting of rollover of TSP funds from my time in the military into an existing Fidelity-held SEP-IRA. Rather than doing any homework, and in contradiction to Fidelity phone support and IRS Pub 590a (I am no tax expert, but this was easy to find), they told me I was not allowed to conduct such a rollover and would have to open a another new account with them. Instead of even attempting to fulfill my simple request, they decided to try and push a new product on me. Absurd."

"I closed on my condo Wednesday and the title company wired my funds to me. All the transmitting information was confirmed as correct on both sides as well as we received a fed number confirming it was sent. Today is day 3 and @Fidelity can not find the wire. I spent most of the day on the phone with them. At 4:45pm, I got a chat response with explanation points telling me everyone has gone home and theres nothing else they can do until tomorrow - poor customer service!"
