"I got Shrimp Suya with a small hair in it, could've been from a beard or anything, but Mo decided that she wanted to actually laugh at the photo/situation, claim she doesn't see a hair and refuse a refund. The food isn't even worth it for the small portion they give you. Terrible first and impression and I am disgusted that Mo thought it was okay to laugh on the phone about it. Spend your money elsewhere. Side note: I also got fish roll and it was 80% dough and maybe 20% fish. Absolutely vile and a waste of my money. EDIT: To the business' reply. It was brought to your attention, that's why I reiterated what happened and even named the employee by name multiple times. Too busy being defensive to take accountability that you served me unsanitary food, refused a refund, and Mo actually laughed on the phone and said she didn't see any hair. If your business ruins, it's by your own doing. And it is Ms. *Okoro."
"The atmosphere was uninviting, very loud music, people staring at each other waiting on the food while there was no way to even start a conversation. That wasn't all of it, the food that was served to you wasn't the one in the front, so I didn't know if it was fresh or anything sitting in a pot since the oxtails were tough to chew and not to my liking because there was no stew to go with the rice and beans and my food was seperated. If you see the images the portion size was really small for the amount I paid. I don't recommend going there. I could have gone to a Peruvian, or Jamaican spot for better portions and overall I spent $28 and no drink.Seems they are charging people more to keep up with the rent because they had food in the front of you and people behind you watching you."
"I ordered delivery from this location. The rice was good, plantains were fine but the beef was very chewy. Almost like jerky texture."
"I have been to this location several times. Environment: The restaurant was nice. The decor was beautiful and tables/seats were clean. There are two sections: a carry out section with seating and dine in section with a bar. Food: Food is always good! Unfortunately, the last time I went, they reduced the portions for take out significantly. So much so, I’m debating if I want to go back. My boyfriend paid $22 for okra stew for me to open it at home and see it was half full. It didn’t even spill out, they just served us a half full container. I don’t like our money wasted or my time (we have to drive a bit of time to get there). Customer Service: It was good, everyone was pleasant and did their jobs well. Overall, I like the place and the food. I definitely recommend visiting! If you do take out, I suggest checking your food before leaving. I’m not sure if it was just a busy night or the portions are getting smaller but better to check than be angry later."
"The decor is top notch and has always been. Very clean environment and food display/presentation was great. I have been here a few times and I’m always wowed by the interior decorations. The food has never disappointed either but this place is slightly priced higher than typical West African carry out place. It’s easily a high end restaurant so bare that in mind when you see the price. I see lots of negative reviews about gratuity being added to bill and I think the owner should address the issue to avoid confusion. Someone else complained about shrink wrap on the swallow when they warm up the food, not great. My only negative experience was that my plantain was delivered to the table after I was done eating. There’s always room for improvement but this restaurant is a positive representation of naija culture and resourcefulness so they have all my 5 star plus more. Note: The level of spice is intense so thread carefully."
