"I really had to think about this before I posted a review because I was really excited to try out Bijou and, honestly, my hopes were high. I thought maybe my expectations clouded my experience and that may be the case. But bottom line, my personal perception is it's just not worth the money. I've paid everywhere from $50 to $350 for my hair styling so I was not taken aback by the prices. But I was taken aback by the results for the price. My hair is maybe 2 inches long (and now 1 inch long after my appointment). And gray. So to see a billed item for $175 for 'overall highlights' was surprising. (But I do understand that effort goes into each head - regardless of length - so let's leave it at that.) And I can't blame my stylist at all - she didn't set the pricing. She tried to do what she envisioned I wanted but even after sharing pictures, I still walked out with what I did not want: lack of evident lowlights (I requested lowlights, not highlights). Which would have been fine for $75 - not $175. I'm happy that this is a small, thriving business in our community and want to be supportive - but we are just not a fit."

"First time at Bijou and I have nothing but praise! The whole aesthetic of the salon is delightful. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I’ve been blonde for years and wanted to match my darker roots. I walked in with super damaged, dry, bleached hair and left with soft, healthy, touchable hair! I haven’t had dark hair in years but I am IN LOVE with my hair again! Major shout out to the incredibly talented and very personable Kelly Rhoten! Thank you so much for accommodating me last minute and for squeezing in my daughter to trim her bangs, also! We appreciate your time and talent and we will be back!"
