"Great kitesurfing spot. Remember to reserve online a parking pass. Park agents super kind and let you park the car close to the grass spot (launch area very wide and handy). Be cautious and careful with families and small kids on the beach. Don’t hurt anyone and have fun kiting !!!"
"Still closed after 6 months of almost no real work being done! Absurd! They moved the road a few yards and then quit. And the sign says it will not re-open until November at the earliest… They are asking for 13 months to do a job that should take two months at most. This is just ridiculous. On edit: My much lived dog, Soot, passed in June of 2022 so we never got to walk Triton Beach again. She loved this place because every time we went around a corner it seemed like there was someone there who loved dogs. I would move us off the trail so the other walkers could pass by if they were not dog people. But most of the walkers would give her a pet and Soot thought they were all there to greet her. We both loved this place when it was open. We walked from the road up north once but she could not walk that far in her last months."
"Not as big as some of the other beaches around here, but definitely worth the visit. It’s quiet and good for pitching an umbrella and doing simple beach stuff. A big plus, there’s no fee whatsoever (admission, ticket, parking, etc.)."
"I just went here today with my dog. It’s great that they allow dogs on the beach and it’s very family oriented. Not a ton of visitors and everyone can spread out nicely. The waves are small so you can teach little kids or puppies how to swim and the water is warm and shallow all the way out to the breakwaters. The bottom isn’t rocky either - it’s like a sandy clay silt. The only thing I really didn’t like was that there are sand flies that will bite you if you aren’t in the water or stand still too long, so be sure to have a real can of OFF! with you. Most of the time at other beaches they only come out at certain hours like dusk but here, if you’re even close to the trees they will get bite your ankles and swarm your dog."
