"Nice and chilled, great place for a walk or a bike ride"
"What a great and easy way to access nature through an historical park. Local summer camp counselors who share the area were picking up trash everyday which we so appreciated."
"Great location to start a day of walking, hiking, kayaking or biking. The C&O Canal path (which runs approximately 100 miles from Washington, DC to Cumberland) runs right along the Potomac River, with Virginia on the other side. The path is very good and well maintained. Not too crowded at this location along the canal so a pleasant experience. Plenty of parking, all free, that is right next to the path. Port-a-john os there, too. Recently installed kayak launch platform."
"Nice gravel path, fairly level. Great place to bird watch and/or walk your dogs. You do have to be wary of cyclists going too fast and not giving sufficient warning of being on your heels."
"A great place for views of the Potomac and the sunset. The aqueduct made of red Seneca sandstone is a nice historic structure. I also suggest walking the 3/4 mile down the towpath to Violette’s Lock (Lock 23) to get a different perspective and nice views of the forest and river along the way."
