"Pretty area and nice boardwalk but there's a lot of trash that needs to be addressed. So many beer cans that detract from the feeling you're supposed to get from the space. Also a storm drain under the road needs to be grated because it's washing lots of trash into the wetland."
"I love this place so much but there are people throwing trash in this place I feel at peace. For a nice walking area like this, there should be a person who comes and cleans it at least once a month. The amount of trash here is ridiculous and extremely sad to see."
"I saw 10 snapping turtles, painted turtles, a water snake, small fish, a white egret, butterflies, geese, ducks, a wild turkey, orioles, cardinals, Robins, and red-winged blackbirds. The trail is right across from the broadlands Harris Teeter in Ashburn. I parked at Harris Teeter and crossed over at the crosswalk. The trail is about 15 minutes leads a circle around a pond. The trail is all broadwalks and tar so very to walk if looking for and easy or handicapped friendly trail. Its a good place to bring children and dogs too. They have benches throughout the trail is you want to rest or they would also be a good place to read a book."
"This is a beautiful and well maintained park. The only downsides are that it's close to a road and there isn't much parking, but those are minor complaints. There is a wide boardwalk going around the pond so that you can circle the whole thing. There are a few places on the path that have park benches where you can stop to admire the view and soak in the sun. You need to check out the wooden promontory, which provides the best view of the pond, and -- if you're lucky -- the snapping turtles."
"This little park is nice. Very dogfriendly. It has poop stations. I love the boardwalk and enjoyed seeing the ducks and geese. I bet it is much nicer in the Spring and Summer. Right now, the plants look dead, being Fall/Winter season. The walk is about 1/2 mile around. There is no parking lot but there is a little area that will accommodate about 4-5 cars. You could park in the Harris Teeter shopping center across the street and walk over. The road has minimum traffic, safe to walk across. There are benches throughout the trail but the view is bushes right in front of you. Not sure why the benches are located the way they are. I expected to have a view of the water or some open space."
