Reviews
"Great spot for photos and to go swimming. It's a short hike from the trail head to reach the falls. Fairly easy until you get to the water. I'd suggest bringing water shoes or an extra pair to change into. We crossed near the Boulder wall as it seemed easiest. The stones were very slick from being covered in algae, so be mindful to avoid slipping."
"A taste of home for me. Absolutely beautiful spot. A little crowded sometimes but you can reserve a Saturday or Sunday. But remember first come first serve. The weekdays are usually less crowded. As I write this review it's just my family and me. One of my favorite spots in Maryland so far."
"Really cool little waterfall. Very limited parking is first come-first served. Holidays and weekends require reservations. Wading is allowed. This is a very popular local spot. On a sunny/hot day, there will be a LOT of people there."
"I parked up in the parking lot, and walked along an easy, well maintained +- 1 mile trail to get to the falls. Kilgore Falls may not be a very high waterfall, but the forested surroundings and it's own natural beauty made up for its stature. There were plenty of people of all ages enjoying the water, swimming and wading under the actual falls. I specifically went to photograph, which was quite difficult as there were so many people in the water. It took me a couple of hours of patiently waiting for areas to clear up to get my photos. Definitely worth the wait. And most certainly worth the visit. Especially being free."
