"It's a nice quiet spot to sit and watch the river. It's a quiet place to walk the tow path. Great place for night fishing."
"This is a great place for an easy hike, bike ride, or deep dive into canal history. My wife & I walked from the lock to the Aqueduct in about 15 minutes. The fall foliage was nice to see although there are a lot of sad trees that have been overgrown with vines. As you approach the Aqueduct, there's an old hollow tree about 200 yards before the Aqueduct on the left (coming from the lock). Then as you get within 100 yards there's a nice trail down about 10' and a bench with some interpretive signage about the history of the Aqueduct, including some former stones. Then, as the sun grew closer to the horizon and we enjoyed a dinner we picked up from the New Brunswick Grill, we walked back with just enough time to drive down to the boat ramp to capture a peaceful evening of autumn calm. This is less than 2 hours from Baltimore, MD, so definitely an easy day-trip adventure. There are more trails around there, but we were delighted to escape the concrete jungle for an adventure into God's beautiful creation. And we'll be back."
"Wonderful trail along the Potomac."
"Love seeing these lock houses still standing."
