Reviews
"I Wrote a review years ago that has probably been taken down since. Seems many of those reviews from that time has disappeared. But this dentist should not work with children. Years later when people ask for a pediatric dentist, I reply NOT TAFARO IN FLEMINGTON. He needs anger management and a good therapist"
"If I had written this review 10 years ago I probably would've said some of the bad things you see in these other reviews. But as of the last few years, I have a completely different experience. Dr. Tafaro has been an excellent dentist. He and his staff have been very friendly to myself and my son. He does excellent work, and the ladies at the front desk are always willing to help with the dental bills. For younger children I can see how his bed side manner would seem rough, but looking back on it, I view it more like being firm in tone, something we all hope that a young child will listen to. I've never seen him yell or belittle anyone."
"I could not agree more with the comments about his scaring children. I was shocked to see him standing over my son yelling at him because he was having trouble biting down on his xrays. My son was only 5 and the doctor used his huge body frame as well as his loud deep voice to intimidate and belittle and yell at my child. Sound shocking? Yes, it is. The women that work there and the hygienist are great. I believe Dr Tafaro is probably a good dentist but he absolutely should not work with children. Frightening really."
"Terrible! I went there with my 4 year nephew who needed to get some x-rays and fillings. He was scared and started to cry. The doctor and his assistant were so annoyed and kept watching the clock instead of trying to talk to the scared little boy and walk him through what was going to happen. Eventually the doctor said he would not work with him and told my sister that he would have to be treated at the hospital so he could be sedated....HE IS 4 YEARS OLD! He was scared! It is scary enough having to go to the dentist at 4, but then to just try and put something on a kids face without any explanation is simply obnoxious. His bedside manner is NONE and I would never allow my nephew or any other child I know to go there. There are rude, obnoxious and down right not nice."
"I took my daughter here for a cavity because her regular dentist didn't use nitrous oxide and my daughter was too anxious and in pain when they attempted to do it without. Anyways, this dentist has absolutely no "bedside manner" (I'm a nurse and don't know how else to explain it). My daughter was scared, and he didn't do anything to help make her feel more comfortable. In fact, he appeared impatient with her and was even rude, making statements that made my daughter feel like she was stupid, even though she was following instructions, keeping her mouth open, etc. She, or no child for that matter, doesn't deserve to be treated like that. His attitude and coldness made her so upset that she started crying, which made the dentist seem even more annoyed. It honestly took all the power I had in me not to punch that man in the face. When it was over, the dentist asked if we wanted to take care of her other cavity, and I told him we were done. As we were leaving and getting in the car, I myself started getting tears in my eyes. I apologized to my daughter and hugged her, promising to never take her there again. I obviously did not make a follow-up appointment and later called the office to let them know that we would not be returning due to the rudeness and insensitivity of the dentist. The receptionist seemed understanding and apologized. I got the feeling that she has heard complaints like mine frequently. I would NEVER recommend this dentist to anyone. He should not be a pediatric dentist, because he is rude and appears clueless in how to deal with children."
