"I don't use the land part of Williamsport Park but instead use it to launch my kayak on the Potomac and for Antietam creek. It's a beautiful spot and the river is frequently completely deserted. Antietam Creek can be tricky to paddle up depending on how many trees have been downed recently but you can paddle five miles up river on the Potomac until you come to a riffle field that is harder to navigate up. I'm at a loss as to why so few people are on the river but also glad to enjoy the peaceful nature. Getting here early and having a calming paddle before work is a great way to start the day."
