Reviews of Hyatt Place Pittsburgh-North Shore
"Room was dirty. Smelled like smoke. The air was dust filled. Scratching your throat. I’m sure from a filthy furnace filter or no filter just blowing dirt through the heater blower. Supposedly some discount month, but I was offered nothing. Receptionists didn’t even know about the app information. Also no plastic cups in the room. I’m not drinking out of those glass cups in the room. I only drink from Pre wrapped disposables!!"
"Charged for food items I never received or ordered. Terrible customer service. Sheets and Comforter were stained but I didn’t complain because I hadn’t had any other issues up to that point and didn’t want to cause problems. Looking back I would have. Also was charged for an extra parking fee. They hide charges and refuse to refund. Location is great for bars and restaurants but other than that I would highly recommend staying elsewhere."
"Stayed one night, and everything was pretty much fine until a few days after checking out, when I noticed a random $6.00 charge from the hotel on my account. As it was a separate charge from my parking fee, I got a copy of my bill from the Hyatt website (I was not offered a copy on checkout) to find that the $6.00 was for bottled water. Unfortunately, I never saw or drank any bottled water during my stay at the hotel, so I called the front desk and was told I'd need to speak to the general manager, whose voice-mail I was given. I left a message detailing the above, but have not heard back or received a refund, and if the hotel is so hard-up for revenue that it needs to pick my pocket for $6.00, I have no choice but to leave them a single star for their "purchase". As several other reviews mention a similar false charge for bottled water, I can't assume this was truly just an honest mistake."
"Our car was broken in to. If I'm having to pay to park in their parking lot after already paying to stay there, I expect my vehicle to be secure. The room was okay and clean enough. Carpet could do with a deep clean. Very noisy due to being face level with the highway, but that's to be expected. The girl in the bar was friendly enough. Location was great for what we were here for."
"I was skeptical about staying here for the very reasons that came to be why I did not enjoy my stay. The hotel is positioned amazing if you are here for a game and to party. If you are looking for a regular and comfortable hotel experience, the only comfortable thing is the mattress. The room was not overly clean with a spot on the toilet seat and filth under the glass on the side table. The mirror closet door was falling off so we didn't close it. The set up of the room makes no sense with the sink outside of the bathroom and the TV both in the middle of the room. Fresh take on breakfast must mean quick and easy with a giant bowl of yogurt. We didn't enjoy it and skipped breakfast the next day. All that said it did have parking and was just outside of the city center If that's where you want to go the price point is right (minus not being able to cross because the bridge is under construction. Overall? Mediocre stay but fits for the price. Will not be back."
